Bus operations in Taiwan City

We begin our many many sharing of pics in taiwan City. Lots of pics to share. so check back regularly for new pics.

Shortworkings in Taipei.

Several Services have shortworking services. Usually the shortworking trips serve 70 percent of the main route then branch off to a district of town after serving the similar part. Such bus operations are known as fishtailing. Fishtail so called named after how the bus route diagaram wd look like. A Fishtail . with two spokes.

Shortworking are usually done by another bus company And the service number is in green. here is a shortwroking svc 262.

In the evnt that the EDS cannot show green, chiense words with "District" word will be displayed instead.

In the day, its kinda ahrd to shoot EDS. 369-AD on Svc 262 Green is another one of those typcial Isuzu LT134PPK of Capitol Bus. We notice that the bus has been rated with "1 star" only. This is how they display if a bus has good service. more stars betetr Qos standards met.

Express Bus in taiwan.

these are 9xx services. they run within the city but they are not considered regional express bus services.

A hino LRK2JMB on express svc 905 advertising Phillippines. In Chinese a play on the word meanings of Philippines first chracter and the must go chiense chracters.

946-AB (no record) is likely a Hino ERK2JML . Svc 905 is an express service.

057 FP to 089 FP (All King Loongs KL6120UI) are all perm on WAB Express Svc 902. Here is 069-FP with a hard to capture EDS. Although a Full WAB svc, the svc only managed a "5 star rating" for Qos. Note the hard to see WAB lgoog at front of bus.

- i can't imagine how sucky the ride is if u take through 3-zones of city in this 3-zone service.

099-AD is a Hino ERK1JRL bus with 豐榮車體 bodywork doing svc 266 of NTU bus (Big South Bus - Da nan bus). Bus has a very Volgren like front.

Plastered papaer say its being fixed but this next bus arrival LED screen is scrolling wildly.
Note: in background a Brown-9 isuzu.
Such MRT line colour branched services are not necessary short services like our M1 (now 92). they run quite a distance.

Bus services starting with 6 means 3 zone service but with air-con. of crouse today most buses in taiwan are FAC but thats how the 6xx services are named. However 316 wd probbably follow a vairant of this 616 route.
912-AC is a Hino ERK2JML with 豐榮車體 bodyworks. Zhong Xing Bus svc 616. Ad: Hitachi (Chung Shing Bus is the group of bus company operating with red white n blue liveries in taiwan). is uspect this bus is from the main company in this group of bus companies.

Company includes Zhi nana bus and kee Lung bus among many others.

One of the many regional services. here this one is offered by kee Lung Bus which is dominant in jiufen area. These buses use the freewway to go to rurual parts of taiPei county.
WEF 1 June 2009 - all regional based bus services adopted a 4 digit svc. the author is unabale to provide any photots because i left TW may 25th.
Even the jiufen services all were re numebred.

The American Bus

An American bus!
298-AB is the Novistar international 3000 RE American chassis bus running on DonHua Main ine (via Taipei Arena) from Shilin Market.

main Line services are so called as they run along the road mainly and then branch off somewhere else. Most MainLine services too have their own 3 digit numbers and some are even variants 9shortworkings) of the main line services.

Many Main line services over the years also took on MRT branch services codes because the MRT runs parelell to amny main roads as well.

King loong (Golden Dragon ) bus in taipei City

Hot on the heels of the news that the local public bus operators will fancy a jig with a King Loong HYBRID, May i introduce to you a WAB bus model in Taipei. its a king Loong!.

Svc 902 (Express service) in taipei operates a full fleet of these King Loong KL6120UI

WAb bus services are known as Bo-Ai services in Taiwan. here the bus EDS is displaying its heart shape with (xin) character- vin has a dual meaning new bus or heart in chiense.

The side EDS in mid scroll is a mess...

braopding by the front is allowed in taipei contrary to rules stating that u baord from rear.
Here the front door opens to reveal a zero step entry.

Notes:- certain buses with the same bodywork are not king Loong but SangYang brand buses. forutnately i din run into any of them.

these King Loongs can also be found on routes 72 and 220 in taipei City

This picture of the rear door of a King Loong bus tells us much.
1) Most WAb buses have a PIW bell press outside the bus before entering. None so in taipei ones.
2) the door cock button has a long chiense phrase of instructions as to how to use and whats its for.
3) it is zero step all the way to the rear.

4) Ramp is mannual pull out ramp.
5) Innovative LED strip to warn motrcyclist of door opened.
