It's confirmed.

The new aircon Boon Lay Interchange is scheduled to be opened on 20/12/09, before Christmas season.

Media release from both PTOs are not out yet, but there is a circular in a SMRT bus depot informing SLs of the scheduled opening of the new BLI on the said date.

SLs will be undergoing familiarization training of the new interchange layout, where the parking bay is, the alighting and boarding berth, etc, somewhere this week.

really even if aircon is free i still don't need it. too much ac not good for skin anbd health. also the fares and stall rentals (means stuff sold more expensive) higher. in the end commuters and oeprators have to bear the higher fares.

Advantages with Air-conditioned bus interchange:

-Can block off the noise produce by the buses

-Can prevent unauthroize personnel entering into the bus park which can endanger their safety, example: knock down by reversing bus.

-Can prevent inhaling in waste fume produce by the buses

Disadvandages

-Cannot snap pics.

-Cannot hear the engine sound produce by the bus.

wah good. cannot smoke. that's one advantage i see. as for waste fumes as long as there's an exit or entrance when you board the buses there will be plenty of carbon monoxide for one to inhail. sure cannot snap pics? i snap so many times in ac intechanges no body catch me. like use compact and hp cam also cannot? gitta be kidding.
