I used to think the VSO was the loudest and most irritating.
Living next to a major road, and a bus-stop, I really hated it
when the VSO pulls away from the bus-stop. Especially when I have
music on.
That was before the B9TL came, some with the fantastic radiator
roar that resembled the MKIV in pattern, but which made the VSO's
roar sound like a squeak.
The KUB is easily one of the quietest buses so no complaints
from me.

from my toilet, i can hear all sorts of bus noises.
pretty interesting to hear a vso pull in to the bus stop
underneath my block, then right after it leaves, a loud b9 comes
along. :D
just yesterday, heard a 161 vo being driven hard. 2nd gear all
the way to the engine's max rpm. could hear the gearbox grinding
away
