gasband SG yes adding salt to coffee is a hainanese tradition. I first had it in Malaysia and it seems only certain coffeeshops in Singapore would knw it....
alexkusu SG u knw rite wen coffee goes stale/off after few hours...just add some salt and it taste good as freshly brewed coffee cool huh
vito_corleone SG the trick is, use a bit of butter and extra virgin olive oil, the oil prevents the butter from burning and less butter will give you a less buttery taste
littlestream SG Hmm…......interesting. I would imagine it to be fragrant but wonders about the oil though.
vito_corleone SG good coffee beans have sufficient natural oils that will come out after a good roast, giving it a nice aroma. no need for nonsense like butter during roasting
MooKu SG Hrmmmm. Just how much butter am I supposed to put? I had one cup of coffee just now with around 1½ teaspoon of Lurpak butter, but I can't taste a thing.
MooKu SG It didn't taste oily at all... There was a layer of oil on top, and it was very pretty, gold and shimmery against the black coffee.
