what special refurbishment did sbs436C undergo ?
Trial refurb, together with 293Y, before the Scanias came in,
these two trial refurb buses were perm 268. If 293Y's or 436C's
refurb was successful, they would have been appiied to all SBS
Mercs during their refurb program around 8 to 10 years ago. Which
also means that there may had been one other bus which was part of
the trial that had the current configuration and the trial interior
of this bus was chosen for the current one you see on all Mercs,
except for 293Y, 310G (blue, earlier refurb, de regged) and
436C.
The refurb is such that the aircon ducts are silver/metallic in
color, with larger aircon outlets, and additional metallic window
frames, thats why when you see the bus from the exterior, there are
black borders on the windows which wouldn't be there on normal
Mercs.
