If sbs purchase the Scania DD it will not be the first Scania DD I have taken the old scania non air con DD before, it was good and at least not very noisy compare to volvo B9TLs. Should I said it the same model as the old scania single deckers bus sbs used to has.

The Wright Gemini II B9s are supposed to replace the LO3x. If SBST likes the K310 and places an order, its to replace some VO2x and some Batch 1 VO3x. These guys were registered around the same time.

But of course I dont wish to see them ending up buying 500 K310s to replace all the VOs eventually, then we'll see 1600 Scania buses (assuming no more Scania SDs) in SBST's fleet -_-

Scully might get to see more of it if this supposingly rumour demo is a success.

Oh tat Scania N113 DD demo.I saw the pic in suhirman's photo gallery.Rego is SBS7000 iirc..Tat bus had rim guards lik the Mercs/MANs.Very cool sia..

LOL. According to an article, SBST has close ties with Volvo, especially relating to DDs. So I think they will continue to support the Volvo DDs. Think this appeared in the article of Batch 2 B9TL, if not batch 1...

Can you cite the article, if possible?

I also suppose that SBST and Volvo have close ties... look how many buses are ordered from them. Quite like SMRT and Mercedes-Benz

I hope SBST wun buy the Scania K310UD.Cuz my fren told me of the big problems they gave in hk until they had to be dereg and sent bac to Scania for major inspection or changing of the affected parts be4 being re-reg and sent bac agn.

Iirc,my fren said the prob was in the rear the ac unit fanbelt or someting.But i rmb the prob was damn serious.So i hope tat sbst wld jus stick to the Wright B9s order and if possible,extend the order to another 50 :)

I cant rmb the regos alr cuz my fren told me abt tis way bac last year.But i rmb one rego clearly.MT6551 or someting.He told me tat aft it came bac to hk,it was converted into a mobile office for admin stuff as i tink it wasnt suitable for passenger svc anymore.

may be sbs will use a different air-con system from HK. Hope to see this bus on the road. there are some malaysian tour agents also using Scaina DDs. I have taken one to this tengganu it quite comfort I think it operate by local woodlands transport.

There are no double-deck Scania citybus chassis in Malaysia. All are of the intercity (IB) and coach (EB) chassis. Even the Cityliner double-decker that was put on trial as a citybus between Kuala Lumpur and Klang at one time was a K124EB 6x2 420. Needless to say, the trial was a failure.

Lol might as well buy Scania K124IB DD... the newer batch one i saw last year in NATAS are likely to be auto than manual as i never see any gear selector in it

They have been redeployed to operate as long-distance stage-buses in Kelantan (Kota Bharu-Gua Musang) and Penang (Butterworth-Alor Setar). The bucket seats were also replaced with high-back coach seats.

Gemilang's design concept seems to have been inspired by Hong Kong's Scanias DD....lol
