On some DD buses, the TVs are spoilt but the sounds are still audible on buses.

SBS Transit actually earns money by putting the TVM on the buses.

They should offer free rides on buses with TVM, which show only commercials.

Free ride, but bombarded by advertisements.

finally. no more noise.

the sound on some of those buses is so shrill and loud... especially early in the morning or late at night.

you're trying to sleep but can't thanks to that annoying shrill barrage of noise.

Since SBST will be uninstalling the TV Mobile sets, will the Volvo B10Ms restrain back to the original sitting positions for the left side of the bus after the rear doors and remove the seat stump on the seat in front of the rear door from the Mercedes Benz O405 and Volvo Olympians???

I think Tv mobile is no longer profitable in the long run since they were first launched few years ago. The variable costs to provide public service might have risen up over the years that it is more cost effective to pay for remover service now than to substain even further.

ive seen MANY cases of TVM failing

SBS2643H, SBS3922X to name a few
SBS9670H and a few other buses black and white
some even off.

Im so glad they decided to take out the TVM instead of just letting the TV rot there

since when is SBST removing the TVMobile sets? TVMobile will only permanently disrupt their frequency broadcasts to the tv sets. SBST will leave the tv sets as it is while finding another tv operator that is willing to broadcast their services via these tv sets.

SBST don't own the sets. Mediacorp will have to take them back once the lease period is over.

if TVM had better reeception, would it draw more commuters to watch it? cos it seems like most of the time, the tv always seem to freeze at one point...

e freezing is due to e satelite on e roof of e bus.

That was the time when TV Mobile marks its inauguration on SBS buses in 2001. SBS9888Y had the TV Mobile ads as part of the inauguration.

SBS9338T (BNDEP 9) both lower and upper deck TV Mobiles everytime turns blue.It works for very short then after that the whole screen will turn blue throughout.This problem has been existing for very very long alr.

Took this bus today and the problem is still there.Obviously they heck care abt them as they r no longer gonna be used for a period of time?

mediacorp owns the TVM sets found in SBST buses. yes. how about the TVM sets found in horizon food mall? suntec city? bintan resort ferries? SMART taxis? they also belong to mediacorp. some of these operators had their lease contract terminated/expired with mediacorp but mediacorp didn't claim back these TVM sets. as i said, the news article states that the sbst spokesperson have already said that sbst will leave the TVM sets as it is until they find a new television operator willing to operate these sets. it already implies that mediacorp is not taking back the TVM sets. won't they clarify this matter if it was to be otherwise?
