one gear up or down, will jerk and lurch a bit. Then some
more BCs will need to maintain the clutch and gearbox if not the
engine can suddenly switch off. Last time happened on private
coaches, the driver lost the timing then cause the engine to
flameout.
it does not mean this way. it is how e driver accelerates -
whether he wants to step very hard or lightly.
