control is pioneered by Mercedes...
however, Volvo's concept car also has this feature and
enhanced it by braking the vehicle[if the driver is not
reacting] when it senses a collision is imminent with the
vehicle in front or it's following too close if the car is speeding
after a certain speed...
Merc latest E class has this feature...
There is tendency to share safety technology for European
Marques...
If you noticed, the EU is more stringent with their ratings and
standards, which are adopted widely worldwide. The Euro emission
standards and the crash test safety (NCAPS or something?) are some
of them.
