If the Exit readers does not go to 'Sleep' mode, it is the
system fault. If you are alighting at the next stop, he cannot
fault you for tapping as he don't even know the system is faulty at
all in the first place. Some drivers don't even know the fare
stages are inaccurately updated at all. There was once a service 9
driver accepted boarding at fare stage 33 when the readers were
showing 23.5.,,.They are not so technically knowledgeable....they
know how to drive only...some even bluff you the bus is not running
on VLS when you caught them off guard on wrong fare stages.
TS, I am a bus driver myself, stop thinking you are so smart to
cheat the system or think we are fooled. I don't know about other
drivers, but i am usually aware of fare cheats like you who tap
before alighting. Usually we ignore is not because we are stupid
like you assumed, but we are just sick of dealing with these
people. And is not that we are not technically knowledegeble as you
claimed. Sometimes we forget to update the fare stage when VLS is
faulty. But in such cases, you only stand to lose. For example, you
said you boarded at stage 33 but you tapped your card at 23.5. If i
realised that i got the wrong fare stage at the next bus stop, and
update it to 33.5, you would have travelled from 23.5 to 33.5
instead. See how much money you lost? Can someone lock this rubbish
topic?
