As I was waiting for my bus today, an 851 (the new WAB merc) made its way off and it made such a fierce sound

It was like the kind those heavy vehicles or Msian buses/lorries make with lots of exhaust fumes coming out (the bus sans those fumes though)

Are these buses (wab merc in SMRT) eco friendly? Comply with any eco-friendly Europian regulation?

Cos I noticed the engine of the KUBs make very smooth sounds.. But I was almost scared/ shocked by the sound this bus made..

why no one comments on this.. have u heard the sound it makes?

The Soon SG

why no one comments on this.. have u heard the sound it makes?

I'm used to the sounds of the OCs as I take it almost everyday. These buses are Euro 5 (first in S.E.A. and what SMRT mentioned: 'Euro V is the new level of emission standard set to be enforced only in 2009 in Europe.')

Anyway:

Today (new format of posting rides)

Bus: SMB61J on 307
Origin: Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange
Destination: Choa Chu Kang North 5
Time Taken: 5 minutes (0725-0730)
Crowd: Medium

Bus: SMB71E on 307
Origin: Choa Chu Kang North 5
Destination: Choa Chu Kang Way
Time Taken: 5 minutes (1350-1355)
Crowd: Medium
Other Comments: The front Bus Stopping sign won’t light up whenever the bus stop button is pressed. Only the middle one lights up.

SMRT BUSES LuvER SG

why no one comments on this.. have u heard the sound it makes?

Fyi, SMB41S & SMB61J (both 307 perms) make such loooud noises when moving off, especially SMB41S. Ive olso used to that kind of sound already. Anyway,

Today

[CCK Ctrl >> Teck Whye Ave (to sch)]
> TIB552G - 307E (KJDEP 190) [190/307 x-over] < Joker bus, EDS Displayed like this:

'307E Please Pay By'
Cash

and the EDS goes something like 'Ez-link card reader out of order' while in fact the reader was 100% fine. Previously TIB796U's BC olso did this when this bus starts cameoing this svc.

[Teck Whye Ave >> CCK Ctrl (to home) (usual 1 round twrds Yew Tee)]
> SMB61J - 307 (KJDEP 307) < Waah... Raining like mad outside during the ride.
