As for your latter suggestion, it sounds more like a shuttle service to me.... Something identical to Stadium Direct. =)

I miss CityShopper 576 or 579. For 576 and 579, took about 30 min to reach home. For 518, It took about 1 hours. Double of the time and called this service EXPRESS.

To me, why ppl bother wasting money on CityShopper when there’s already trunk services plying along the Orchard Rd shopping belt and Suntec City area? That’s the reason why from 8 svcs initally, it was reduced to 4 and subsequently 3 at the end of 2008, and those CityShopper svcs do not really meet the adequate demand for the service since the day of introduction (if I can recall spotting CityShopper services on its 1st day at Dhoby Guaht MRT).

waiting for LTA to give approval for buses to use KPE.... anyway at only 50% premium, surely cannot win cityshopper which charge a 100% premium

it came from an era on falling bus ridership. we won't be seeing any new services of such nature for a while to come now that the focus has shifted.

All I got to say is IMO 579 is the most suscessful CiTYSHOPPER in terms of pax load.
579 Bus stops plates have been stickered over. Still can see the number unlike 576 where they pull out the sticker... zz...

CityShopper services, its "retirement" in time to come, even not now ... with the due to open CCL etc. Anyway, its history. 2 questions pls:

1) It seems there's CityShopper with "A", for example "579A", so how's the route & destination like?

2) CityShopper buses would return to which bus routes? (Sorry if repeated question). May anyone have copy of the CityShopper driver timesheet? Would u mind pm to me (For memory-sake).

31 takes 35-40min from Parkway
36 takes up to 20min

857 takes 20min to Boon Keng
23 takes another 30-35min

10 direct only takes 45-55min

guilty as charged xd haha.... But 578 and 581 never seems as packed as 578 or 581 whether i spot at far east, plaza sing suntec city.Or from 579 itself xd.....
