BillyBong SG I may be wrong but i think breadtalk tends to shortchange the bread with miserly fillings. Crystal Jade Confectionary is much better. And some of the neighbourhood ones in AMK are pretty good value for money.
Wanda SG Breadtalk's rental is high mah... u got to admit that they are the trail-blazer in bread design...many bakeries now copy the same pattern of bread as Breadtalk. Disclaimer: I seldom buy from Breadtalk, coz got no $$.
BillyBong SG Agree. But that's where quality must stand out, so the copycats can only go so far. I will still give breadtalk the thumbs up because of their cleanliness, hygiene and presentation - all very professionally done. Just the quality of their bread....
rikki SG Theres a bread stall in Ginza Plaza(Clementi) named Oishi. Everything in the shop is good, and its price is average.
Hele1668 SG I like 2 eat certain type of bread fm Breadtalk. I like 2 buy fm Polar their sugarroll & pie my family likes them. But i think no matter how nice d bread r, d shop shd hve new flavour every now & then, so that we hve more choices. Myself i like sandwiches, when i hve time i will buy bread, ham, cheese, tomatoes & do it myself..............................
Mumbo Jumbo SG I haven’t tried the breadtalk country loaves before. Anyone have any idea if its good?
BillyBong SG Don't forget those fresh bread shops that open at night for delivery to distributors. When the bread is fresh and HOT...extra YUMMY! There's one near the Mobil station at upper thomson road.
pwnz0r SG Around the corner from the hawker center? Ya still there, just passed by couple of weeks ago, when I went there for makan. Still making loads of bread. Since you guys like bread, you should watch the Jap anime all about bread - Yakitate Japan! Quite entertaining show.
Volvo Olympian SG I prefer Bengawan Solo (the cakes there so yummy) and also Polar (the egg tarts , the elcair and Custard puff is nice)
ellisbeck SG I loved BreadTalk (Please note the past tense). Tried the first branch at Great World back in 2001 - Wonderful! Yes, and I still commend their cleanliness and hygiene. Presentation - Nope. Some branches are rather terrible. Quality has gone down too, I am afraid, if I trace all the way from 2001. And guys who love BreadTalk, notice how all the buns and cakes had shrunk in size over the years. That's a letdown. My two-cents' worth.
