From yesterday Shin Min Daily News:
At 2 Nov 2008 3.30pm, there was a umbrella tree fell
down along a stretch of Upp Thomson Road heading
towards to city near SLE. All the affected vehicles have
to make a U-turn at its carriageway back to the nearest junction,
causing big congestion at there. Affected public buses ply
along this road cannot U-turn due to its size, and
passengers have to stuck there for long hours, until the
fallen tree has been removed by NParks contractor at 2 hours later,
which is 5.30pm. It is believed that the heavy downpour caused the
soil to be softer, and resulted tree falling.
If u wait these bus services too long, that is the reason.
I saw S138 bus at the front of the row of buses in the photo. Rego
0429Z doing 9S.
