But the train would be crowded as it is only a 3-carriage
train.... With so many people taking the train, what if we face a
serious problem of trains reaching its maximum capacity within a
few stations?? This would be another nightmare..
Seriously, with full knowledge of overcrowding on EWL/NSL, what
were they thinking? Never mind about order 3-cars and running them
in this formation for now, they can always order more later. They
should have just built stations to fit 6-cars. When the crowd comes
for real (perm or peak hrs), at least they can couple them
together, and order additional trainsets if needed.
If they already know there are serious concerns about meeting
the frequency to squeeze everyone on board due to signalling
limitations, then all the more they should have longer trainsets.
Even the Taiwanese knows this, doing the same on the Muzha Line.
The problem is going to come back to haunt them in a decade or two.
Same goes for DTL, also 3-cars.
