if got ppl go block ur camera screen before u take pic, by then the bus would sure move off alrdy. i giv a sceneario, u wan take nearside at bus stop, a lot ppl go board and alight the bus, bc go close all doors then move off. some ppl taking their own sweet time to walk off ur camera screen, by then that bus would slowly disappear behind at those who block ur way.

From my experience, one of the best place to take stationary shots is near a junction where the bus will slow down if they (hopefully) approaching a red light. Need a bit of timing and luck too because of the traffic light, availability of light and buses and the traffic approaching the same traffic light.

Seriously, go and think hard about your situation. A bus-stop is meant for people to board and alight. If you think that it is passenger's fault for walking slowly, you better not take any bus in the future.

And I shall ask you this qns. Do you think taking photo at bus-stop is feasible? If you got low percentage of taking a full bus photo, why still consider taking it at bus-stop?

add on - i do not like taking the pics of buses at bus stop because

- people (not their fault to begin with. Bus stops aren't exactly meant for photographers to be there snapping their hobby)

- the angle at the bus stop when the bus is stationary can be weird + people boarding /alighting

- The passengers and BC may feel uncomfortable with a person snapping the bus and possibly them.

But if the bus is approaching/leaving the bus stop and i'm at the bus stop, i'll consider the shot.

those BC who are experienced, when they approach to the junction the can just chiong like 60km/h then slow down, turn right to another road then accelerate again. best is not to take pics when the roads are easily congested and flowing unsmoothly.

I prefer photographing buses along the roadside when they are moving.
However, for buses with camera unfriendly EDS ‘forces’ me to photograph at bus-stops.
Thank God the new batches of Scania are not like that!
I remember seeing photos of K230UB buses on the move; with the EDS captured perfectly (not panning) – i think got to do with very fast shutter speeds?
Anyone can further advise on this? and which camera good for K230UB on the move?

my hot tips for taking the best shot you can ever find

-> Stand in the middle of the road snapping a bus roaring down the next lane
-> Block the bus in whatever way you deem fit so that you can force the driver to turn at an angle to your liking for the shot
-> Chat up with the transit security so that you can snap interchange shots with no sweat. He may even instruct the driver to drive in your favour of the shot
-> For night shot if you're afraid other vehicles will block your shot at the bus stop, put a cone saying road works before the bus stop so that vehicles have to take another route
-> On another hand put a cone in front of the bus saying "Please wait while I take a picture of your beautiful bus". Remember to remove it after snapping.
