Haha... Nissan Diesel vehicles are one of the most powerful
bunch in Japan Domestic Market now, followed by Hino Motors and
Izusu.
The latest Nissan Diesel Spacerunner buses (produced since 2007)
are equipped with a 300PS diesel engine (MD92TJ 220kW/2200RPM,
1324Nm/1400RPM) and conforms to Japan Heisei 27 (2015 in Western
Calender) Emissions Standards, and fuel efficient as 4.04 km per
liter fuel burn. Transmission in 5 speed manual or auto. The engine
systems also incoporate SCR technology (like OC500LE buses here)
and has cleaner emissions than a Euro 5 vehicle!
As a complete build-up body, with a wheelbase of 4800mm, the bus
can carry 28-30 seated passengers and one-two wheelchair passengers
depending on configurations.
With such a competitive performance, if given as a service
provider in Asia, I would definitely choose this model over other
complete build-up citybuses.
Will SMRT purchase those buses? Keeps our fingers
crossed....
