Here's two of my suggested routes utilising the KPE:

108: Hougang to Bt Merah

you can access KPE via paya lebar rd

ftjj0298 SG

I feel that the route of 980 has duplicated 167 too much. Therefore, I think that it could be amended as such:

This will provide better links between Sembawang, Ang Mo Kio and Bishan. Besides, it also serves Ang Mo Kio and Bishan MRT stations.

Sembawang Residents will get fed up.....

AEW5001 SG

wonder what svcs can be amended to use KPE

569 and 581 sounds possible to me.

Just wondering: If the Ayer Rajah Expressway is shortened as "AYE", why isn't the Kallang Paya Lebar Expressway shortened as "KLE" but as "KPE"?

ARE is an english word?

KLE looks like KJE which already exists? Just my thoughts.

Justify "PIE"?

Slipped my mind =).

But KPE is called Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway, so I don't see anything wrong with the first 3 letters mah..can't have a 4 letter acryomn eway.

eX.A.K.R. SG

The name Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway is an amalgamation of two place names: Kallang and Paya Lebar. It only makes sense to make use of the first letters of each of the two place names that gave their names to the expressway as the acronym.

I still remember that when I first heard about the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway, I thought they were mentioning two distinct expressways: Kallang Expressway and Paya Lebar Expressway.

like i said before short routes have their purpose. service 96 and 200 load pattern and demand is different

dun just anyhow come up with some merger e.g 78 and 79.

agree. 200 was to carter to those in the north bouna vista region and it does not click with 96. one mad merger would be 42 and 43
