I am one of the passenger who prefers taking buses over trains.
I prefer taking:
a. bus 165 from Holland V to AMK,
b. bus 106 from Holland V to Orchard, City Hall, Clementi
c. bus 48 from Holland V to Bugis
However if going to Boon Lay or Expo, even if there is a direct
bus option, I may still prefer taking trains.
Perhaps PTC and LTA should start to allow more bus competition,
I would like SBST to ply another bus service from Holland Ave to
Orchard. Waiting for SMRT can be very frustrating sometimes.
just to add on, service 7/14/16/105/106/111 that skip
orchard<->tiong bahru sector of the mrt lines are powerful
competitor of the MRT.
then services that run along express way are also good, like
service 5 between novena and ubi, service 23 between whompoa and
bedok reservior, service 39, 161, 168, 965, 969 are all better than
taking a train.
