JB Mark III’s perform much better than most Mark
III’s. Sv 170 does have less start-stop operations
compared with other routes in the city.
What you said is true, 160/170 do not call at JB bus stops after
they depart from their respective terminals. How come I did not
think of that.
In this aspect, the DMs may be adequate. However, SBS will have
to remove the 60km/h speed limiter as the DMs will have to ply on
the M'sia federal highways, which stipulates minimum 80km/h.
The 3 speed Voith gearbox, which is the same as the one used in
MK3, is adequate to hit 85km/h @ 2300rpm.
