Anyone knows what does phase 1 and phase 2 refer to?
Phase 1, close Lim Chu Kang Rd between Old Lim Chu Kang Rd
junctions, preparation work to be done to the road to make it a
runway. Vehicles can still pass through Old Lim Chu Kang Rd to head
North
Phase 2, close Lim Chu kang Rd between Jln Bahar/Choa Chu Kang
Rd and the aircraft gate to Tengah Air base. Vehicles heading to
Lim Chu Kang Rd End cannot pass through Lim Chu Kang Rd or Old Lim
Chu Kang Rd and must detour to Kranji to get to Lim Chu Kang via
Neo Tiew Rd (which is 10 to 20 km more). The rest of the road will
be prepared to become a runway.
This is done cos closure of the other roads which can be runways
would have much larger economic losses than closing Lim Chu Kang
Rd, especially if you close ECP.
