Strange bus route classification

If you realised another thing, SBST named 400, 401 and 403 park services. But their destos are different from those designs like Sv 408 and 409.

I suppose he just answered what I want to answer too...

But does it really matter?

400 401 403 uses normal desto plates like trunk svcs do

Officially (means how LTA/PTC sees them), 400 to 405 are basic trunk services, 408 and 409 are basic-plus services, which enables them to charge higher fares. Other basic-plus services include the Express, Fast foward, Chinatown Direct, Stadium Direct services, possibly the Night services and 926.

241 was Jurong Int-Teban Gardens then Jurong East to Teban and renumbered as 331, later withdrawn and took over by 143.

A check with bus guide 1985 shows that them JIS svcs then charge double the price compared to normal residential feeder

JIS feeder - OMO 30 cents

normal feeder - 15 cents

these are recreation services. offered new new by SBS in the early 80s. then there was 401 and 402>> 401 east coast park, 402 to the race horse place in farrer park at llittle india.

I guess the idea worked and today they are now called parks svcs.

400 - gardens bby the bay / barrage
401 - still going east Coast park
402 - today go by gardens by the bay a bbit
403 - pasir ris park
405 - CCK Cemetry festive svc

Withdrawn 406 - Chiense gardens

408 - Labrodor park - essentially svc 213 of the 80s
409: Mount faber

the 20x services were once JIS svcs. after Jurong bus int was opened big revamp allowed 20x svcs to be open for use as miscellaneous svcs.

202 - Bouna Vista - Singapore poly loop - now 74
203 - Commonwelath rive ter (near blk 96 area) loop out to MRT and magaret Drive areas - withdrawn
204 - TIBS svc to Sungei Kadut- now 925

205 - Clemtni to toh tuck and former JI - now 173
206 - - trunk svc boon lay - lim Chu kang rd pass army camps - today part of 172 and 975
Scheme b svc 636 may still be running this route today

207 - marine parade area

208 - TIBS one - forgot where it go
209 - oddly a trunk service - Clemnti - chhiantown or town area

212 - buna Vista - Sing poly - became 202 then 74. Esisted with svc 202 bbeing used for JIS.

Surprisingly SMRT retains this 3 numbers after they renumbered those in Bukit Batok & Bukit Panjang. Perhaps the 30X looks nice and they did not wish to change the number.

Nothing of that sort. Naturally, they wanted to renumber them to 93x, but the renumbering exercise in Bukit Batok caused "great confusion" for the residents such that similar plans for Choa Chu Kang was scrapped.

251 - Boon Lay Int-Refinery Rd - then change its route to Benoi Rd

last time when you want to get to Jurong Bird Park, you can take either 251, 253 or 255.

248 - Boon Lay to Neythal Rd (loop) plying along Enterprise Rd, Fan Yoong Rd, Wan Lee Rd, Kwong Min Rd, Soon Lee Rd, Tractor Rd. After service 248 was withdrawn, service 250 took over the Enterprise Rd - International Rd sector. Now taken by service 252.

253 - Boon Lay to Benoi Rd (loop). Benoi Sector took over by service 255. Benoi Rd (Benoi Sector - Pioneer Rd) took over by service 257. Benoi Rd (end) took over by service 251.
