SBS Transit orders 900 buses from Scania (Part 1)

Airbus330Captain SG

Wrong, K230UBs replacing N113CRB and part of Mercedes fleet. If you calculate the number of n113crb and O405, there are more than 500 altogether.

^tamago^ SG

I don't think L94UB is as similar to N113CRB than the B10BLE is to B10M's, especially considering that SBST has a much better expertise at maintaining B10M and Volvo's in general.

I was just making a guess anyway...

Oceane SG

Please look at the post above me and you'd know why I say SBS 7500 D ~ SBS 7999 Z. It's because the list that is provided by SGWiki states that there hasn't been any buses registered under the range of 7500 to 7999. (Most other numbers have been taken by presently deregistered or scrapped buses) and if you were to slot the Scania K230UBs through the missing gaps, it's confusing to maintain.

7500 - 7999, with an exact range of 500, is just nice as SBS 7499 A is a B9TL and SBS 8000 Z is a Nissan Civillian (Deregistered), which means that the gap of 500 is closed.

^tamago^ SG

I also believe the fact that an unused rego will take precedence in the selection of the rego range.

But still, speculation remains as speculation. Let's not get too serious. Laughing

ngjy22 SG

Can they reuse the rego number? Confused

TIB1049L SG

Yes. SMRT UDs rego's were used to be registered for a couple of Hinos

Y_Shun SG

maybe its the rego thing that is taking them so long to roll the scanis out? Laughing

^tamago^ SG

lmao. Laughing

Scania SG

Sekali they follow Mk4 style, 882Y to 998Y, 1896B to 1999M, 2593T to 2688D, 2689B to 2838M.

ngjy22 SG

Batch 1, batch 2... Laughing

But this one all diff bodies expect Strider

tintinspartan SG

To be precise: TIB362M - TIB377X only

iveco SG

well, no SD was due for decomissionning beck then.

BTW, the L94UB with the Habit body kit looks HAWT. Tibs should have brought them in instead of the Volgren O405s.

ZYX2005 SG

yes sadly that is da case. +1.

IMGO if u grab a scania L94Ub chassis n build a habit bodywork on to the skeletall thhing , the bus might become rather shaky.

In the Uk their scania strider also like crap. the ELBO built scanias we have here also shaky.

in UK i seen b4 strider n113CRB. ah that one ride comfort gone case.

personally if i were to buy a scania bus i will insist on the in house product of omnicity or Omnidekka of Scania or go for the British East Lanchsire bodywork. these are tried n proven bodyworks fitting for scania chassis n engines .

ZYX

sBs_boy SG

If you insist 7500 - 7999 is the only slot available. So be it.

Airbus330Captain SG

Yeah no point argueing with these kind of obstinate people. Let them be.

Oceane SG

I think you don't really understand what I'm trying to say, do you?

Come on, I'm only expecting, I don't even know their regos but judging by the information given by SGWiki, I THINK (I say it again, THINK) it might be that range. You guys keep thinking that I'm affirmative and very sure that it's that range, and as if I know?

You guys don't know how to look at sentences properly, I said I was guessing, not confirming. Anyway, peace out on this matter, the Scanias would eventually be deployed. IMO, there could be other numbers given to them but I thought this range could be quite reasonable?

Why not you give your own guess before you start pointing fingers? At least I tried to make a reasonable guess with something as support. You only blabber and scold me and say that I only stick to that set of numbers. At the very least, give your guess. I won't object.

My point is, I was trying to make a guess as to which numbers could belong to the new K230UBs, and I am at fault for that? Why not you try it yourself instead of trying to tell me off.

iveco SG

You know something? SG never had DM-bodied Scanias. However, there are CLLs in Estonia with DM body kits. Wonder which range are these from.

Even Dennis, despite their close ties with DM in the past, had some WA Strider buses.

chickenlittle2 SG

hahaz.. heard that because scania offers SBST a special price when they buy a huge no of buses from them. SBST seems to forget about how the condition of their buses regardless of the only new scania (L94UB) and other old scania on the rd..

SBST cannot afford to buy Volvo or mecedez.. hahaz.. Save Money!
