SBS3625D SG ......... I have little patience in typing such a long explaination. Especially for such piddling reasons. Now 64 also have K230, one step closer to home.
Scania SG Any vehicle with handbrake off would roll off a slope of a certain angle, at what angle will the vehicle roll depends on the weight of the bus, simple as that, nothing to do with manual gear, auto gear or front or rear engine.
Scania N113CRB luver SG Not really . I've yet to experience that . But if you are standing at the articulated section and the bus is turning at high speed , you can be flung around . I was taking a 184 bendy that time and just as i was at the articulated section , the bendy suddenly turned , nearly throwing me off my feet.
stooper SG Yeah, even if the bus isn't turning and just going straight, the articulated section keeps on bouncing up and down!
alleggerita SG Go backwards because rear engined? You seriously need some common sense la.. I think it rolls backwards for the B9TLs and the K230UBs because it has a function where the gearbox will shift to neutral when bus comes to a stop..so when it's in neutral, it doesn't have the 'creeping phenomenon' which only happens in 'D'..so when driver releases the handbrakes, the gearbox is, for a split second, momentarily caught in neutral..and when there's a slight slope, it'll go backwards a bit, but after it re-engages to 'D' gear, it won't.. Added: Correct me if I'm wrong..
chickenlittle2 SG The impact of the bus moving back is quite high compared to the older buses.. In the underground carpark, whenever you see a car heading out at the slope and they got to stop at the gantry to scan the UI.. U would see manual car tends to move back a bit after the driver release his brake pedal.. Those private buses like Woodlands transport having manual transmission also face the same problem when they are at the slope..
Scania SG I think I did make a mistake by stating that it doesn't matter whether it is auto or stick.
Oceane SG I was taking my 812 home that time... sit at the back seat I almost tipped over when my bus (1058K) turned out at a sharp angle... And yes... the articulated section is also dangerous for standing. I've seen people falling when the bendy makes a turn, especially a sharp one.
Oceane SG Re-deployed to 64. From what I know... SBS 8064 P & SBS 8065 L were already HG 64 from start but cameoed on 100 then did 64.
alleggerita SG Of course you made a mistake.. Torque convertors aka auto tranny is less likely to roll off a slope, it may even creep forwards very slowly..but of course if the slope is too steep, it will either not creep forwards and stay stationary, or if slope really too steep, even an auto gearbox equipped vehicle may roll backwards..
TIB1049L SG Was on TIB1181L a few months ago when the damn SC go gun it at the hump. Whoever stood at the arcticulator went flying up in the sky for 2 seconds
Oceane SG Suspension can spoil one... I experience it before too... then there was 3 seconds of girls' screaming engulfing the whole bus.
Oceane SG Yishun ST 61 got 2 zebra crossing humps... and sometimes BC just drive over it without slowing down and somemore increasing speed... so that's why if do it long enough bus suspension will spoil.
