Service 859,961 & 985

I am most worried that TIB1049L goes back to 859 Laughing
There is a likeliness though

I overheard from a group of S-shift BCs onboard CSS179A on 925 towards C.C.K talking about 852 under KJDEP Control and the history of the Scania L113 deployments and they confess that all 852 BCs are seniors and are 'pros' in driving the buses. Rolling Eyes

Okay, lets go way back in 2003. AMDEP used to have the Scanias then and they were used on the YIS routes incl. 852. Svc. 852 used to be KJDEP and AMDEP dual controlled. So naturally DAFs and Hinos were placed on 852. There is a picture on the web with TIB905Y on 852 somewhere.

And to my opinion, DAFs should be one of the most difficult buses to drive too

If service 859 ever goes back to WLDEP, I want 1001Z, 1242U, 1244P and 1246J back on it again! Laughing

But dreams aside, I don't think they will use back the same buses again. Also to take into consideration now the fleet is 7 buses, not 4.

If a service is under dual-depot control (take 67 for example), can a BC from KJDEP drive a bus that is controlled by AMDEP?

I would rather they have overnight parking over at Geylang Lor 1. Doesnt it save more money ? It makes more sense as Geylang Lor 1 has the necessary re-fuelling facilities and i’m sure that the carpark can easily fit in 20 – 30 buses.

985 - Chiong on PIE .

961 - Good for chionging between stops . But theres a slight glitch . Those on Malaysia Lances will have a rough ride at Holland or Farrer park for now, due to the CCL construction. Laughing

That recalls me of the CSS DAF Days! That Fringe Carpark can fit like 40 buses judgin on CSS's fleet before the withdrawals of CSS603 and CSS605

100% of the Scanias in fact were all transferred to WLDEP by June 2000, TIB674M was the last Scania to be transferred if I am not wrong.

AMDEP Scanias used to serve services 59 (now under SBST so called service 86), 160 (now 980), 163 (now under SBST), 169, 851, 856 etc. AMDEP side were replaced by Dennis Lance buses whereas Scanias were progressively transferred over to the newly opened WLDEP in 1998-2000.

Still remember TIB665P which was perm on service 160/980 since new during AMDEP days, now still a perm on service 980 under WLDEP Mr. Green

For service 852 case, it was once full control by KJDEP, hence only DAFs were spotted. Service 852 started to have WLDEP Scanias when it came under partial WLDEP in 1998. In 1999 service 852 came under partial AMDEP control where Dennis Lances also came in as well as the remaining Scanias that were under AMDEP. Scanias were permanently withdrawn from service 852 in 2000 when AMDEP got the new UK Dennis Lances and transferred the remaining Scanias out to WLDEP.

But think back. Do WLDEP have enough bendies and rigids to supply to 859.
If thats the case, its possible that 859 can have at the most 3 or 4 perm bendies. I mean, take a look at how many SP bendies do WLDEP got. Only 7, namely TIB1056R TIB1061A TIB1070Z TIB1071X TIB1111P TIB1139K TIB1179U.

There is a possibility that most probably a few Scanias and Box Merz (The 4 Shifts that would be replaced by AMDEP since WLDEP don't really have spare Merz) would perm 859. Expect occasional UD cameos as well

Have you forgotten someone? TIB977P and TIB1107C are also SP Bendies. TIB977P is no longer a 962 perm and was seen on the 15th of Nov 2007 at Bukit Panjang doing 700.

And I think if this happens, they would only deploy Rigids becaus the demand of 859 off-peak is low and it's a waste of resource. That's why they got TIB821E to replace TIB1098 due to waste of resource. An S-shift Bendy perm would do it.

Please la. I seen TIB977P on 962 countless of times when you said it was SP a month ago. So does it mean that if TIB1181L dissapears and appears on 912 after a month you count it as SP? I mean, it did happen during March when it went MIA and it is still 900/901. Unless you can provide evidence of TIB977P running around for this entire month I don't think I will believe you.

TIB1107C and TIB1139K I think cannot perm 859 unless WLDEP is prepared to throw in 2 S-Shift bendies, because 1107C is S-Shift 169 and 1139K is S-Shift 911 Smile

That's what I always see, TIB977P not on its perm service always. So, I counted it as a SP because it rotates between different services. Yes, there was once I saw it on 962 in early October. Thursday, the bus cameoed on 700 and during the last week of Sch for Secondary Schools, it was cameoing on 857 or 856. So, I counted it SP with that in mind. But who knows, this bus is 'unfaithful' to it's perm service.

Perhaps you never had the right timing to see it. Its like sometimes I thought TIB465A is not on 911 during S-Shift because I didn't see it, but in actual fact it is.

And declaring a bus had been redeployed needs a long period of time esp. for SMRT buses as they dun have perm stix. I remember it took me 3 to 4 months before confirming TIB1188T had been redeployed on 911 Smile
