Bus Diversions due to Massive Jam at CIQ

Pls be informed that bus diversions had took place today (28/2/08).

960, 961, 178, 170(Queen Street): Buses are diverted to ply Turf Club Avenue and enter BKE and exit at Woodlands New Town. 961 and 960 buses continue normal route towards Woodlands

925: Buses were instructed to go straight at Junction of Turf Club Avenue and Woodlands Road and follows same diverted route as 960 and 961.

170 Blue Plate, CW1: Buses were instructed to turn left at Junction of Woodlands Road and Turf Club Avenue and enter BKE and exit at Woodlands New Town. Turns left at junction of Woodlands Centre Road and Woodlands Avenue 3 (near MArsiling MRT) enter CIQ as usual.

911, 912, 913: Buses were diverted as usual

950: No change

Berths of 912, 913 (heading CIQ) and 903 at Woodlands Int were crowded and I myself helped to control crowd traffic at the 912, 913 Berth at Woodlands Int.

This jam was caused by the ongoing manhunt for JI member, "Mas Selamat'' after he escaped from detention center at Whitley Road.

Hello Mr. KPO, don't think that because you're a bus fan means that you can do such things. It's the staff's responsibility to do so, not you.

Sv 925 buses affected severely as well. I saw TIB954 at Kranji Road (towards woodland, which is near my workplace) at 7.15pm. I left at 8 plus and saw this bus only about to reach Woodland Interchange at around 8.45 pm. Usually the last bus that will reach Woodland Int is around 8.15pm. Those buses that was diverted to Turf Club Ave/BKE were also stucked at the jam as well.

also, the direction of woodland ave3 (from marsiling mrt to Kranji mrt) is also severely affected by the jam as well. a lotof malaysian lorries were cutting queue and thus block all the three lanes as well. Those Sv 160/170/ CW1 buses from JB going to Kranji MRT were also stucked.

Saw a Nissan on Sv 178 which is at the leftmost lane at Woodland Ave 3/BKE junction (toward Kranji Mrt), cut right into third lane and then slowly make a 135 degree left turn into the slip road up to BKE instead. The slip road to BKE is actually mean for the vehicle coming from woodland ave 3 (Tech III/Kranji direction).

it is still jammed on 29th Feb. but i think there are some measures taken to ensure that buses services are not severely affected (today the malaysian lorries queue were still long but at least in an orderly sequence). but then Sv 925 still got stuck at Kranji Road (towards wdl). Others buses still got stuck at woodland road (between ave 3 and turf club ave)/ave 3 (woodland rd junction til BKE junction) but at least they are still able to move (better than 28 Feb). BKE does not have any jam though at 7.30 pm and 8.45 pm.

also there was one SMRT personnel at the bus stop opposite Kranji MRT controlling traffic for the lorries, maintaining an opening for buses to go into & leave the bus stop. like an imaginary yellow box.

This makes me wonder whether he has really learnt his lesson through his absence in the forum... Seems not...

Especially that part... Turns people off... How can a un-uniformed person direct and do crowd control? This is not like 'move to the rear please' kind of thing. What if someone got lost? Oh of course our hero will say 'dun worry I will help/save you' but you will know that heros have 'hp' (health point) bars too...

Next is the 'inform you' part. I guess people who are staying near Woodlands will have good idea that there is a big jam; no need to inform. How about those in the non-affected areas? The correct word to use is nothing at all. Just post and all will be informed, do not use such words, saying to the public that 'I am big, I inform the world about everything, now there is a jam at Woodlands'... See, its bad...
