I think the next air-con bus interchange will be clementi and boon lay

Scania N113CRB luver SG

No. Hope Bukit Panjang get an aircon int soon. The floors in that interchange is bloody wet and EXTREMELY slippery during rainy season . Bad situation for the elderly.

The eatery is also too small and rather lousy for the BCs IMO .

Those people waiting at the int for buses are almost fully exposed to the weather during heavy rain , as the wind brings in alot of rain and onto the plp.

The alighting berth also only permts 1 bendy or 2 rigids . So if theres alot of buses coming in , all of them have to queue up and can jam up that area .

TS is right. Mr. Green

Bt Panjang is really a short to medium-term bus interchange structure.

LazerLordz SG

When the Bukit Timah Line terminal is built, can we expect to see a proper interchange?

Scania N113CRB luver SG

I would consider it a medium. It has been here for almost 7 years i think. If the new interchange were to be built with the BTL , the interchange would have reached aroud 10 years of age , or possibly even older.

^tamago^ SG

Yes. Mr. Green

TIB1062Y SG

I hope my MP doesn't cheat my feelings... i.e to build a underground interchange once the BTL is completed....

dragg SG

i dont understand why bus interchanges need to be air-conditioned.

its such a waste of money.

Well err... Yishun Interchange is definitely older than 7 years of age. Let me illustrate the problems of this poorly-designed interchange:

1) Low flooring just off the exit of NorthPoint: Coupled with high ceilings the floor is always flooded during rainy days and the cleaner always had to clean it up.

2) Berths placed too close to road: With high ceilings (again) they often get wet also when rain approaches. Especially at Berth B2 of the interchange.

3) (I think this one should be considered a reason as well) Low height restrictions: While most have 4.5m height limit, Yishun INT's entrance is 4.1m with the parking berths only 3.2m in height. DDs can't enter except from the exit.

I think there are more reasons to this but these are the main reasons. Yishun INT was poorly designed (extremely high ceiling about 6.5m in height) and often gets wet during rainy seasons. Even if no Air-con also can; just make the ceiling lower. Evil or Very Mad

After Clementi and Boon Lay, it should be Yishun if I am not wrong......

Don't think Bt Panjang will get an air condition interchange soon esp. when the interchange is only less than 10 years....... But I do agree that the interchange is too small.......

Off topic a bit, some older interchanges like Bt Merah seems to have no plan for a re-built

ahlunjia SG

u noe why? cos smrt very cheapskate Laughing

Y_Shun SG

Yishun confirmed.

It was reported eariler this year...think during june?

Y_Shun SG

Other than TPY and SK interchange...AMK is basically part of the shopping centre. Laughing

Marco_Simone SG

Bukit Merah or Bedok better.

Oceane SG

Yep, the area around Yishun Central starting to make shape... opposite Block 925 the blank piece of land would be allocated to the upcoming Yishun library, while between Block 925 and GV Yishun would be NorthPoint extension, then in the future Yishun INT would be air-conditioned.

Speaking of that, Yishun INT may be re-located opposite Block 925 when works start. So highly possible Yishun Library will be only after Yishun INT finishes. Or not... there's no other choices (most of the bare land already taken up by the upcoming Hospital).

Yishun Central getting packed. Evil or Very Mad

Think Yishun will also be part of shopping centre in the future. Basically now it's directly beside NorthPoint already. Rolling Eyes
