Also, i noticed most 170R BC uses Jalan Lingkaran Dalam instead of
jalan wong ah fook (shorter, old route) even though they seems to
have the choice to use the shorter route and have more rest at
Larkin..
once saw 3 170 (red) together turning into Jalan Lingkaran Dalam
(quite a record as its freq is 10 mins)

clear route of 170 (Red) and 170 (Blue)
The route on my map and on the SBST website one is the same.
SJE does use Jalan Wong Ah Fook, nevertheless it's heavy traffic.
Route changes
The route of 170(Blue) and 950 is slightly altered.
A minor section of Jalan Gertak Merah (near the traffic light
junction of Jalan Ayer Molek) is closed temporary for some drainage
works. 170(Blue) and 950, therefore, after JB checkpoint, have to
turn right at junction in front of Waterfront City, using Jalan
Ayer Molek and followed by turning right again at Jalan Gertak
Merah, before terminating at Kotaraya Terminal.
