Tour group is advisable, unless you have a friend that and
he/she is willing to bring you around. Avoid driving into the
downtown area, the streets are quite narrow such that congestion
often occurs.
Express bus from Larkin is RM14.60 per way per pax. Tickets are
hotcakes in Melaka Sentral, buy earlier for the return ticket to JB
or SG. I happened to fail to get the ticket, end up got to take
another bus to Kluang (via Muar) and followed by another bus to JB.
LOL!!
Besides historical places, such as the Statutes (red houses) and
some churches, there's also Stamp Museum, Independence Museum,
Historical Museum, Bukit Senjuang (St John Hill), Jonker Street,
Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. On the other hand, the Mosques there have
squarish pagodas.
Main shopping centres are Soon Seng Plaza (electronics/pirated
vcds), Ocean, Mahkota Parade (Parkson/Giant/Cinema), Tesco
(opposite Melaka Sentral), Jusco (Ayer Keroh).
