Latest developments according to Nanyang Siang Pau

Jalan Tun Abdul Razak ( between Jalan Tebrau and Persiaran Tun Sri Lanang ) has turned in 6 lanes single direction.

Jalan Stesen ( the road in front of the railway station, in perpendicular with Jalan Tun Abdul Razak ), all vehicles travelling on either direction on Jalan Stesen will have to drive at the right side of the road, instead of left side previously.

Handal Indah provides a 1 sheet guide of the landmarks along the route with photos. Obtainable onboard those new kampong roof air-suspended automatic M-B bus-chassi (i suspect is IBC 1725) or @ their Larkin ticketing booth.

Now promotional fare is RM 1.50 instead from JB City Square to Eden Garden Hotel. Noted response so far quite good i.e. quite full mostly !

Overall i found this a much higher class of 'City Tram' bus than those in Singapore !!

What about CW3 ??

When would it be launched ?
Handal Indah's latest name card shows CW3 yet i don't find it anywhere in JB or Singapore ! Even their own ticketing counter staff doesn't know much !

There is no CW3 at all, they talked abt launching it on Dec 04 till now... Look at CW2 now, sometimes interval very long, sometimes buses comes very close together

Anyway... Finally, HI at Pontian Kechil Mr. Green So far, the furthest HI serve on Federal Road 5 is at Ulu Choh

But i see the CW3 printed on their latest name card alongside the promotions for the CW1, CW2 & JB-KL routes.

Maybe they want to give higher prority to their local Malaysian routes 1st before CW3 while maybe they still observing the response to SBST 160 route.

I've been using their CW2 quite many times i find the frequency OK i.e. as frequent if not more frequent than SJE, their most direct competitor.
They have the advantage of CW1 @ the Causeway so one can take CW1 across the Causeway instead of waiting for CW2 before switching back to CW2 @ the Causeway to Larkin.

SBST 170 frequency may seem more but i note mostly only for short trips to Kranji MRT station only, of no use for people going to Ban San terminal !!
Furthermore the 170 route from Causeway to Ban San is MUCH longer than SJE's or CW2's route from Causeway to Ban San eventhough both their frequencies may be comparitively less !

CW3, I dunno...

Nope... CW3 uses 2nd Link (Proposed to be) charging S$/ RM 3.00 per trip

Anyway... They used to do is that CW1 runs the JB leg, while CW2 runs bet Queen St - Woodlands (Loop)

If you want to go to CBD, dun take 170... 170 is mainly taken by those going to Kranji or to WDL Rd those factories

275, Ulu Choh is right. The sv is 555. I got confused about sv 506 and 555 which serves BBKP. Anyway, I didn’t see any CW buses to Pontian today.

My relative from MY saw a ADD on the road and asked, "SG here why have DD ar?" I said high demand, then she asked how many can be inside the bus, I saw "87 seats 48 standing space"... She was shocked...

Actually to many Malaysians, seeing dds in SG roads esp for 1st time looks weird to them when it has been in our lifes for 28 yrs! Laughing

I believe many in Singapore & Malaysia would be 'shocked' to see an articulated double-decker coach !

I saw a blue (recall to be) Van Hool of the above type pulling along Hyde Park near Dorchester Hotel in London some years ago !
The engine was extremely loud sounding, like a train's engine & i suspect it to be V10 or V12 unit maybe 20 litres ! The front portion had tables on the lower floor with seats on the upper floor while the trailer portion had beds on both floors. Appeared to me driven from Holland.
Unfortunately no photo taken although i captured only a quick passing shot of it on video.

I find such buses/coaches the most rare among omnibuses.

today i went to Kulai, about 50km plus from JB.. there were sv 2 16? 777 888.. wonder how those drivers tahan all the way there from larkin.. 2 hrs one way..

Err.. SV2 go to Ayer Hitam from Larkin. So it is around 2 hrs+ per trip.. Dun think it took 2 hrs to travel from Larkn to Kulai. The most is 1 hr plus only.
Btw, Kulai is around 32 km from JB.

Kulai is within Johor Bahru District. The long ride was probably due to the heavy traffic. If you drive, it takes less than 30 mins to reach Kulai. A train ride from JB Station to Kulai is only about 10 - 15 minutes.

A real 50 km ride would be a trip from Larkin to Kota Tinggi. I experienced such a ride on Transitlink number 51 (a Dennis Lance), when my family and I couldn't get any express bus tickets. The trip lasted for over 3 hours.

Should be 41, it loops at JB town. Same goes to 227.

Now there's 401 (Transit Link), 506 (Triton), 55 (Causeway Link) serving from Larkin to Kota. Bypassing JB town, using Jalan Tampoi as a shortcut.

There's also GML and S&S service serving Kulai. 13 is also serving there if I am not wrong.
