stooper SG 179 today AGAIN not enough buses. 7255L (9152L cameo) came into service only at 7pm+, just do half a 242 round then BC can go home. No bus at all for 9176T. So again, big gap in 242 frequency as these 2 are actually consecutive buses at the 6.07pm period.
chickenlittle2 SG Long queue in the morning still present after 179A had been implemented 4 days ago..
brotherchen1982 SG First 5 parking berths(nearest to Int Office) now used for 179/179A buses only during peak hrs, all other Services buses have to find parking berths elsewhere...
chickenlittle2 SG Ya, just about to say this too.. This morning, saw 1 green man standing at the parking lots that is nearest to the Office with 2 orange cones to reserve the parking space for Svc 179 buses
service_238 SG The day when 179 queues get shorter... is the day when NTU doesnt have classes At least something different or unusual from normal days.. like the allocated parking lots thing and stuff.
chickenlittle2 SG Wat about barricade one area for Svc 179A for boarding at the Alighting berth? Or share berth wit SVc 242 in the morning?
service_238 SG you will make the xover drivers confused only. Have you ever wondered why 179's berth is always the last berth of both Boon Lay Interchanges?
stooper SG He has driven 9092B from Monday to Wed. Today, he swapped places with the pro crew cut BC to drive 9131Y. Most likely, he would be back on 9092B tomorrow.
stooper SG Yes, highly confusing. SBS9152L has one of the most interesting PM peak rounds. In PM peak, this bus leaves SLBP and goes to NTU to do 1 round of 179A. Then it does a full normal 179 round Then it does a normal 179 round down trip (from T2) Then it does 2 full 242 rounds (old 9214S timeslot, 18.10, 18.57) Today, the BC, after doing the 179A round, he accidentally changed the front desto to 242 instead of 179! Then he drive to 179 boarding berth with 242 front desto.
stooper SG Today, there are 23 buses in service, all are different BCs, so not breakdown or something funny. I believe today finally all duties are filled with buses. In previous days, there were 1 to 3 empty timeslots. So any 2 SLBP buses should cover the 2 extra duties, assuming they don't have any bus shortages for that day lah.... 9162H still on the same timeslot, doing the 242 x-over today.
stooper SG 9121B on the crossover bus timeslot (saw it depart BNL at 16.20), with balding BC driving. 179 is on a completely new timetable, I don't believe the old 179 timings can be used. Only 242 and 255 timings are relatively unchanged. But in PM peak, 9092B enters svc 3pm+, does 3 or 4 179A rounds, followed by 179 down trip (around 5pm+), followed by 1 or 2 179 rounds.
stooper SG Saw SBS7288S's timesheet today, and 179A in AM peak is extremely tight. Only 23min is given, so the actual run time is 21min (given the 2min for BC to walk to his bus and drive out). This is compared to the standard 37min (actual 35min) in AM peak. But the problem is that there isn't much difference in AM peak in terms of passenger loading and traffic. 21min is like the timing of the most pro BCs on 179 already. No wonder they need to reserve the 5 parking lots so the BCs can get out quicker.
stooper SG Again 23 buses in service today. I suspect 9100L is another new perm. It has been on 179 this entire week except Tuesday.
brotherchen1982 SG FYI, there's a opening in the barricade inbetween 174e Q & Berth 8 for 179A boarding point. The paper is pasted behind the poster board for 196(WAB).
