Singaporean Class 3 or Malaysian Class D driving licence for motor cars is fine too. Company trainers will train you for Singaporean Class 4, then you can obtain your vocational licence.

Service 170 drivers all hold Malaysian Class E licences.

2. own Class 4 licence only

u will command a different basic pay than if u simply have ur own Class 3 licence then join and take up Class 4A+vocational licence to work in SBST/SMRT because u are better qualified.

* not company apply for u and "limited-to-company" type of vocational licence

Only for those with Class 3, Class 4 training will be provided to drive omnibuses.

To apply for SBSTransit as a bus captain, you can go to the Interchange's control room to request for the application form.

If you are a Singaporean Chinese and meet CDAC training requirment, you may want to take your own class 4 /5 test 1st. Class 4/5 license is yours even if you leave the bus company.

(Note: not neccessary for application as the bus company will send you for class 4A Vocational license training/test if you do not have).

Not say bad but 4A if u resign the Vocational License have to surrender back just like few taxi companies did nowadays to recruit more cabbies.Malaysian all 4A regardless of what license they’ve got back home

The only place to get it is at the driving school at Jurong Stadium. U need to get your class 4 PDL and driving test date at Bukit Batok DC before u head down to Jurong Stadium to book your lessons and test vehicle. Plus, u must have Class 3 license first.

All driving schools are "private" in many senses. Just that the one at Jurong Stadium specialises in heavy vehicles, and that it rents the space at Jurong Stadium. The heavy vehicles park at Jurong Stadium makes it ideal to run a truck driving school. The main drawback is that the place is super inaccessible. You know, service 178... got wait 50minutes for that bus before. Would not be a problem if u have car.
