It's the same concept for MRTs.

People don't like go too much further into because when they want alight they have to squeeze here squeeze there, making them very uncomfortable and hence they tend to camp at doors.

Then funny thing people complain public buses never sweep/clean the buses.Ignore the graffiti/Broken A/C vents.TIB1020T was badly vandalised by students when it cameos on 811/812.The rear A/C vents was purposely knock/Seats vandalise with graffiti even window are not sparred.That's why when LTA/PTC/Bus companies receive complains like this(Cockroach) instance they will just review and investigate.For SBST/NEL/SMRTB/Rail they've appointed cleaners and pest control for proof.

mother and teacher never teach basic courtesy like lifting a hand to flag down bus. people just stand up and they expect the bus to stop. poor bus drivers have anticipate if they are boarding the bus or not and they have to stop at every bus stop.

the drivers should not stop when passengers do not lift their precious little arm. it is not the drivers fault!!!

hong kong is different. their last time dd bus lower deck is ALL standee. so i would expect in their case, they move into the rear without much fuss. cuz u stand at door or at rear also must stand.
in japan they have many "conductors" blow whistles n stuff n squeeze ppl into rain

and if u want to squeeze ur way into the crowded train, u do the following:

juz do a slicing motion with ur hand, then the people will automatic suddenly part. then what u do is u bow to say thanks n move in quick

that is correct. that is why driver sometime get confused and they juz dun stop.
