If in terms of vandalism which involves seat tearing/poking with
knife to open it up, that's because SMRT uses Vogelsitze, which is
reenforced with some very hard material under the fabric. It's
supposed to be vandal proof, used in buses in the US also. I
watched the production video and got to know of this.
