Hi BusHK

Oh yeah? You bother to spend time to read other posts? Seems like you are very free. Hmmmm

Thanks for helping raise the activity rating of the forum. It will help generate more advertising income for Jason.

^tamago^ SG

Impossible. But you go count every nick × number of variants it should arrive more or less at that figure already. Laughing

eagle SG

I believe Jason can just do a command

"delete all threads posted by this IP address within a certain time frame"

5 mins, the spammers few hrs of time all gone Laughing

So spammer, after now you decide to have different nicks, are you going to relogin to vary your IP address everytime?

^tamago^ SG

he has been very free since friday night. must be a 14yo student. Laughing

n4l SG

That means either he has too much time, or he's using a robot to do it.

If it's the latter, Jason has to do something about the registration process, like improving the Captcha.

And if Jason can find out the 1000 accounts, assuming he has access to the user database, can't he just run an SQL command to delete the 1000 odd accounts? Smile

eagle SG

which is why I say he only needs minutes to delete everything when spammer takes a full day to post it Laughing

^tamago^ SG

No. Rather, I see that the accounts held which may be used for harrassment purposes should just be blocked instead of being deleted, if not we will have to endure this process all over again.

n4l SG

Well, he can block it too. It’s the same process actually, or should be.

Y_Shun SG

Its not the problem with captcha, these aren't bots.

These are threads posted by PEOPLE. That person has too much time to spare doing these pointless thing.

The only way is to ban them from a specific forum. I believe that MODs should have additional function to ban someone from entering the (sub-)forum.

The frequent banning will sure stop that spammer. If not, take action aganist them...

Oceane SG

Why can't Jason track the person's IP and send it to Internet provider to verify who's IP is that? If Singapore one...

Hoh sei liao. Very Happy

n4l SG

I'm saying if it's Captcha. And for someone to register over 1000 accounts... Rolling Eyes

^tamago^ SG

One method would be to use device fingerprinting, similar to that provided by Iovation, to detect multiple account creations on a machine and disable the machine account access on forums.

Y_Shun SG

Follow SPH/STOMP/OMY lor.

Everything requires your IC no.

^tamago^ SG

People can fake. Suffixes/checksums can be generated. Laughing

Y_Shun SG

then add on fields that require your address.

Then if someone reports their IC being abused, then follow up then go to that person's hse beat his mum, burn his hse. LOL
