Ya, took SBS 9092B this morning and the BC was the one wearing a big hat..

1st gear hold.......pause, hold further, 2nd gear hold.......by the time transit to 3rd gear must be 50-60km/h! Laughing

OMG.. Today I took Svc 179 and I am late for work!! Haiz.. Took SBS 9092B today (Driven By the BC wearing hat)(He drive very slow...). There was a massive jam along Pionner Rd Nth to AYE direction. I board this bus at Blk 834 at 7.55am and stuck at pionner rd nth for a long time and only reach the int at about 8.15am.. The order of sequences . First bus, SBS 9031C reach the int first and quickly go back on service on svc 179.. Second bus, SBS 9092B keep stopping and let passenger board the bus along JW st 63.. I was super "Tu lan" that time when I was late but he stop at every stops along JW st 63 when SBS 373A ehich was behind it did nt stop at all. Third bus, SBS 373A overtake SBS 9092B at JW st 63 and did not stop but just go straight back to interchange.

The happy thing is during the PM peak, I board the pro BC bus.. He was driving SBS 9067A today.. hahaz.. Took one round along Jw St 91.. He just accelerate all the way along JW st 91.. Pro sia!!

LOL. The Big hat one depends on his mood... Laughing If he want to waste time, he damn pro at wasting time. Last time, he took 15-20mins to enter NTU from BNL, driving at around 10km/h along Pioneer Rd Nth.

But if he want to chiong, he can chiong too. Today, on his final PM peak round, he managed to catch up with 9291T and 7209X in front of him.

Anyway, this week, 373A should be driven by the tall and skinny guy I recommended somewhere above in this thread. But for the past 2 days, 373A driven by Standby BC. Maybe you tomorrow try your luck, see whether he got drive 373A or not.

Today, the skinny and tall BC finally back on 373A. Very Happy

BTW, the big hat BC was on 9176T today. On his final round from BNL on 242 at 18.54, he took only 9 mins to reach JW Ave 5/Pioneer Rd Nth intersection. He overtook 2 other buses in that period. SBS376S and SBS9156B. Shocked

Since you all say so much abt pro BC, there is one BC driving 16 who chiong everywhere. Bus he drives is SBS2671B, A-shift. Always override the first gear, very nice. Very Happy Laughing

Taking about Pro BC.. I slowly dislike the 242 BC.. They are not skill and try to act skill.. Just like the ex 341S (That uncle who always like to shout and call me to move back..) who like to act pro but also step on the brake hardly.. Another BC would be the SBS 9156B (That old man, ex- SBS 3863H BC), he try to accelerate when he is late.. He seems to be slow in turning the steering wheel, sometimes I am quite scared that he cannot turn in time! Shocked Another BC (ex- SBS 340U BC, who wear a spec), quite pro.. He is quite skilled..

If you think being a BC is as easy as you think, you can try to be one. BCs are told to remind passengers to move to the rear. To add on, please move to the rear. You still need to be called to move to the rear. Razz

I think u misunderstand me.. I know being a BC is not easy.. Just comment on their skills only.. Btw, I write the line "move to rear.." is to let people identify him better.. no other purpose...

Ex 341S BC quite pro what... The one who has a styrofoam cup of coffee or tea, right? He floors the accelerator every time, even for LO3x!

The ex-3863H BC I think more suited to merc better. I agree he turn the LO3x steering wheel very slowly.. Laughing
Next week he should be driving 9187L, "racing" with the other 179 BCs during the x-over to 179.

The ex 341S BC like to floors the accelerator but he also step on the brake very hard when he arrive at the bus stop. More importantly, he would always stop the bus at the front of the bus stop.. Btw, I think he is driving a DD then I think he does not need to pour water at in the front already rite? Laughing

So the ex-3863H BC would be the only BC doing the crossover to 179? What about the white hair BC? Is it the perm bus for the white hair BC is SBS 3873E and the hunchback BC would be SBS 9156B?

What was the cup for anyway? I saw him put a cup at the coinbox when he was driving 9126M when the DDs were just introduced.

No lah, all are on weekly rotation. 3783E is fixed on 15S, 9156B fixed on 16S, 9187L fixed on 17E if you see the timetable I posted.

So every week will BC will go up one shift. But the hunchback will swap places with white hair for 17E. Maybe hunchback don't like to do E shift.

So next week
3783E - white hair
9156B - hunchback
9187L - balding

2 weeks later (hunchback and white hair swap)
3783E - balding
9156B - hunchback
9187L - white hair

3 weeks later
3783E - hunchback
9156B - balding
9187L - white hair

Then cycle repeats.

So effectively, only balding BC (ex-3863H BC) will rotate through all 3 shifts.

Last time, I though he bring the cup up to the bus cos I thought he cannot finish his drinks but actually that time he go and pour the water on the platform(The top of the front wheel) and nt allow pple to seat there.. This time maybe the aircon is too dry so he put the water to humidify the interior environment.. Razz If nt, he want to test his driving skills.. If I nt wrong, when BC under go training, the instructor would put a cup with water inside to test on their driving and braking skills..

Does that applies to other duties on Service 242? So we can say there are no longer perm BC with a perm bus?

Yeah, as reflected in the timetable I uploaded, all buses are fixed to the duty/timeslot, with only the BC shifting up one duty every week.

Same case for 255. So the night x-over to 242 is now fixed at SBS7262R.
