I knew about the route posted on SBST webpage. In the past, I taken 8N like about every weekend. Every 8N i took aft it turn into JURONG WEST AVE 4 and next it would turn to JW ST 82 and lastly JW Ave 5.. (Proven) Does u mean that that the BC had been going the wrong route these days?? I thought someone said that actually 8N should ply along JW st 72 but actually they amend the route?

bus555 SG

The bus-stop near my house no has the 2N alighting sticker Very Happy

tanjun SG

U can try looking at The Street Directory how 8N goes.
Jurong West St 82 is a short road that connects from Jurong West St 81 to Jurong West Ave 5.
Jurong West St 72 is a longer road that connects Jurong West Ave 5, Jurong West Ave 4 and Street 73. Jurong West Ave 4 doesn't connect with Jurong West St 82.

samtlk SG

The official route from the start is via JW St 72. But the BCs were told to ply JW St 75 instead because of the demand there. Does that solve the confusion?

tanjun SG

Oh I c. Anyway, any idea whether they are going to change the route in SBST website into plying Jurong West St 75 instead of St 72?

Yaimster SG

It's expensive when you need to put up SBS TRANSIT signs when only 1 NiteOwl passes by there, especially in the Yishun Ring Road and such, I think, that's why they're delaying.

(Well they can stick to the SMRT signs, if SMRT does not mind, that is Mr. Green )

105090 SG

SMRT also put individual plates for NR (even if they are solo SMRT services..

this kind of thing considered essential to gain public awareness

tanjun SG

Just wondering, for late nite services, how come the territory rule set by PTC do not come into effect?

^tamago^ SG

I had the impression SBST allowed Tibs to have liberty in its routes in 2001 since it did not consider night services to be viable then. Tibs went on to introduce many secondary routes NR10-NR20/22, which bypass the city and serve niche areas, but they were not well received.

NR9 used to serve Sin Ming, Upp Thomson Rd and Sembawang Rd.

tintinspartan SG

I did remembered the old SS22 route from East Coast to ??. Dhoby Ghaut MRT Bus Stop had individual Niteowl plates.

tanjun SG

Time certainly flies. It has been five years since late night services have been introduced. However, if I don't rmb wrongly, the rule about territory that the bus service plies is set by PTC saying that the bus service from this company has to pass by two towns controlled by that company before it can pass by towns controlled by other companies. Or is it that the company has all the say regarding new bus service plying through its territories?
