Some Minor Makeover for Volvo Olympians!?

I’ve been seeing certain number of Volvo Olympians 2nd Batches recieving new paint work and body panels to cover the ‘ugly nail trim’ bodywork. The interior difference is new white interior lights. Well, not as bright as the B9TLs. But, look. B9TL CG is the most well-lit bus in singapore. 100 metres away, you could see it’s bright lights

i have this impression that newer buses use brighter lights. seems to be true in Hong Kong and KL. hahaha

from far you can see a B9TL - it looks so shiny as if it's a plastic bus

Some of the VOs have different grilles located behind the last window. But I don’t think it has to do with any makeover.

Those grilles were different from the start. They are the key differences in identifying Batch 3 from Batch 2 buses.

The grilles don't seem to follow any particular pattern within batch 2 and 3. There also seems to be a trend of VOs disappearing and then reappearing with the larger grille. Only applicable to batch 2 and 3.

Batch 2 with the smaller grille. Note that the top of the smaller grille is flush with the with the lower deck side windows.

The lower rego Batch 2 are the same as the Batch 1.
They have the normal size grille with a small one behind.

The higher rego Batch 2 have a taller grille, but no small grille behind.

The Batch 3 are similar to Batch 2, but they have another panel above the normal grille.

Try to take alook at the old Volvo Olympians 2nd Batch when they were introduced in 1996. They look ugly with the nail strips that hold up the body and now, most of them has been stuck with body panels and a new paintjob which is more dark. SBS934G have the new paintjob as the VOs and LOs
