is it due to high resignation/ job termination rate that led to extra long freq? Its diff to find people to accept such jobs – low pay, extra long hrs, got to wake up esp early and return esp late, do shift wk, get complaints so easily, lots of rules, regulations, restrictions, etc. whereas a private bus driver got less such problems.

Yes precisely , its time for government to increase the pay for Public Buses to be the same at private buses so that there will be enough bus drivers for public buses as well as private buses.

On the other hand , private buses are at very good demand for drivers as they can be driven home & public buses can only park at their depots , Singapore has only 8-9 depots & take in thousands of buses somemore , after the BC park their buses at the depot , they have to take public transport or provide their own transport back home , which is more troublesome (eg . if a BC stays at Bukit Panjang , but he drives his bus back to Kranji Depot & he have to take & transfer bus or ride motorbike for a long distance , but if public buses can park at public car / heavy vehicle park , he can always ask SMRT to buy season parking ticket for he heavy vehicle park around Bt Panjang area so as to save time for BC to get home.

Hence if public buses are allowed to park at heavy vehicle / big carparks or even good salary like the private buses , i believe there will be enough drivers as nowadays people are asking for convienience.

1 more thing , although it may sound like i'm answering SEQ for SS , is there is far too many rules set by PTC is far too much! Stupid rules like students wearing school uniform must produce their student pass to pay concession , such rules often led to conflict & arguments between commters & drivers. Just imagine how hectic it is to be a BC for public buses

Maybe they can be Sv 5, 11, 29, 32, 34, 35, 39, 40, 42, 43, 45, 48, 52, 57, 58, 59, 66, 73, 76, 79, 85, 103, 109, 115, 119, 123, 124, 125, 132, 136, 138, 139, 155, 158, 160, 162, 163, 181, 182, 186, 191, 194, 200, 251... Oops at this rate is going to exceed liao

132,162 shouldn't be excluded. 162 demands varying. if this 10 mins is included for 162, best. empty bus! but sometimes can be alot, so 162 shouldn't be excluded, even if the bus is empty. as for 132, needless to say also, this bus should be included. instead i find 165 is a better one to exclude. also maybe 133?

Services 5 and 59 shouldn't be excluded too. They have an express sector on PIE and the demand is there. I recently saw a DD 59 too. There are better services to use the 20% on.
