Do u guys think 966 should be re-routed to KPE from PIE to ECP - Marine Parade?

would it be so much faster than the current route which uses PIE, Jln eunos and still road?

woodlands -> PIE -> KPE -> ECP -> Tanjong Katong Rd -> Mountbatten Rd -> Amber Rd -> Marine Parade Rd, Still Rd South, Still Rd, Eunos Interchange

It serves both marine parade AND eunos

Not a bad suggestion. SMRT BCs can take a break at Eunos int. The only problem is the SMRT and SBST territory thingy.

For peak hours i feel 8-14 mins is justified for a new unpredictable services while off peak i think 15-18 mins will do

Dude, 966 was probably implemented to compete with the high demand for 15. Rerouting it would give back the Jln Eunos – Marine Parade link to 15 again. If you want to reroute it, maybe it could use SLE – TPE – KPE and exit at Kim Chuan Road or Airport Road. Then, it can get more passengers transferring to 15 from 58 and 87 without having to cross the road at Kaki Bukit. Genius idea? No. It will lose passengers from Bukit Panjang, although there are only a few people taking 966 there. SMRT needs to earn the money, judging from the quality and service of buses.

I think that until SMRT Buses are going to purchase more buses, all these suggestions are probably not going to be implemented. More buses and drivers will be needed to enhance their current services frequencies. Our suggestions which have the intention to improve the town network probably result in the increase in the demand of buses.

bt panjang residents will come after you. anyway I'm refering to Phase 1 of KPE which is the stretch linking PIE and ECP and it will open in 2 months time The portion from PIE to TPE will only be ready by end of 2008

* for info, there will be a new interchange to PIE from Bedok North Ave 3 in due course, currently under construction
