what i'm pissed off with SBST and SMRT operating as individuals
are both wanted to remain different from each other. The former
sticks rigidly to double-deckers while the latter sticks rigidly to
bendies. Maybe even if SMRT can deploy more bendies on svc 190,
there will not be enough parking space at its interchanges and
causing bus overcrowding (instead of pax overcrowding)?
I think SMRT had put a limit to bendy bus population as they occupy
more road space, at bus-stops and bus interchanges. Why can't SMRT
remove such mindset and purchase some double-deckers too? If
popular svcs like 190,700,851,854,960 uses double-deck instead,
such overcrowding problems would reduce significantly.
Double-deckers can occupy a normal bus parking lot unlike
bendies.
SBST svc 147 which deploy mainly double-deckers to serve such high
pax volume is a good example.
What abt SBST svcs that would be better served using bendies where
height restrictions prevent deployment of double-deckers?
