WHY HATE THE NISSAN DIESEL BUSES AND SMRT?

So what's wrong with the bloody fcking bodywork? If all the european buses are bodied like UDs aka Fuji Heavy you peoples will start complaing?

Have you considered the fact that buses tend not to be as comfortable as it is when it is brand new? Everything will reiterate when the new buses now 17 years down the road will complain again. It was a moot that TIBS got the Nissans, SO STOP BLAMING SMRT for the Nissans. Live in the present (READ : 2007).

Even so, why bother posting complains, or shocks about Nissans appearing on premium services like 190? (I can say i saw DC-7s on Singapore Airlines just now).When they phase out those buses, you can become a millionaire? You won't get some sort of motion sickness by not taking those buses? Or you can strike 4D? Screw your brain.

Also, why do people bother to take the UDs when they keep saying they hate it? Simply ignoring it will do if you really hate it. I've seen numerous times where senseless posts of UDs comes about. What's wrong with you people? What can you do if the whole nation's transport is provided by UD? flair up a riot?

Everything catches dust and beomes dirty, so don't frigging keep complain that SMRT buses or seats collects dust, is dirty whatsoever. Even a car that was cleaned a minute ago can already become diry. Unless you can eliminate the dust off Earth. Get it straight.

Frequency. Right now, SMRT has 800+ buses, compared to SBST's 2000+. Bringing in new buses will improve frequency definitely, but please get this factors into your head. Road space, congestions, land scarcity, private transports. SMRT Buses has to consider this too. Ministry of Transportation might cap the buses limit. So don't complain when a bus arrives in 2 minutes but gets caught in a jam with public and private transports.

If you have that capability,prove it then i shall repeat what i see over the archive posts :"Then become SMRT's management, and improve the conditions yourself. Talking and complaing in this place (aka useless) SGGorum will not work wonders."

compared to other buses the experience is somehow the same.. aircon is OK..

nissan like appear on 190 is not grumble or what or be angry.. its juz a WIERD sign that people like to discuss.. NEVER i had hate a nissan.. its juz a bus

If SMRT Buses were lousy then I guess no one would want to charter their buses for events but still see them on chartered services so it proves that it is not lousy in anyway & to me I just love SMRT Buses Wink

Thing is, TIBS did a very good job with all their buses, something which SMRT has to do to prove itself. you seldom get smelly buses with TIBS. You seldom get cockroaches with them. after SMRT came about, these were common. If TIBS is still around, you will most probably get a better service from them. There is a huge difference between these two companies.

What is past is past Jeff,Ditto for SBST in the past you see loads of crap buses & services,Now its SMRT Buses turn due to the lifespan and half-hearted maintenance.With tight budgets & bonus cut what more can u expect from an average 8/10 years buses & the attitude of the staffs?SMRTB got plans to buy a few buses and probably will refurbish selected O405s/O405Gs/UK Lances/Hinos.Just keep on sending constructive feedback to them rather than ranting degrading comments.That's make you more to Anti-SMRTB.

Short-term measures will lead to long-term losses. If this market were to be competitive I think SMRT and SBST will die big-time. Squeezing peeps, half-hearted cleaning and mantaining will save $$ only in the short-term. Look ahead and it'll be a different story.

And the govt has the cheek to lament that not enough of us are taking public transport. And why the hell should we?

SMRT should better maintain their buses and to hire more maintenance and also to buy new bus and also increase their quality. after CSS went down, they used the remaining CSS nissan buses and the unique CSS lance. the lance is not that old, but i feel that the nissans should actually go, should be replaced by new buses. i don't think people will feel happy taking SMRT, especially services which have alot of nissans.

I find that Nissans are just pioneer buses to me. Take the Scania N113CRB for example. It was quiet when it was just introduced into the SBS fleet, which is still full of Albions, Leylands and the Volvo B57s. Now, look at the bus. It's older and reaching retirement. You feel vibrations inside the buses that makes your head sick. Well, I'm proud that i'm born in the year where the Leyland Olympian OACs and the Nissan OACs were introduced. I think TIB369U is the most 'tuned' Nissan UD. It's engine is very loud and sounds like it's racing. Try to spot it on weekends on 178 or 187 or even on 981 AM peak. Well, I'm pleased to annouced......

I agree older buses will be more uncomfortable than newer buses.

But Nissans are actually just 14 years old.

Compared with SBST Mercs, which are reaching their lifespan now, they are still so much better maintained than Nissans.

So SMRT dunno how to maintain their stuff properly.

U cant really say that.. simply cos, one is a Japanese model with leaf suspension. also, nissans were intro here with those kind of interiors.
the Merz had better stuff when they were intro in 1990.

but comparing the SMRT 94 Merz to the SBS 90 Merz, SMRT win hands down, minus the hygiene condition.

i much prefer the SBST merc. after all they do use merc gearbox...very very merc (exclude those guys who got voithed or ZFed)

the TIB merc like can find anywhere in the world. even our neighbor use ZF gearbox for same model.

japan no longer use our UD. our UD new new1991n 1993. japan bus life span law state is...10 years old. so most is phased out except for surviving ones around in japan maybe as collectors itemsorprivate hires.

therefore our UDs are rare.

Uds are sturdy n strong. heavy metals fuji bodywork. i rather SMRT lengthen lifespan use longer.they durable

I trust Japanese stuff, they look are packaged good most of the times and designed well, again, most of the times.
Their commercial vehicals only use ten years? Hmm, maybe applies to certain states, but I have spotted many in Hokkaido and Tohoku area of ages around 20 (made in Showa 62-63 and Hensei 1st years), means 1987-1989.
