I guess the only way is to order it online and the mode of payment is credit card. i’m afraid that it is the only way that you could get the book as the bookstores over here doesn’t want to sell the title due to low demand. The other thing is, the book doesn’t come cheap. it’s around S$80.

It is available at HK$398 or US$51; which is roughly equivalent to S$78 (excluding freight charges). You need to sign up with Pay Pal and payment is only though Visa or Mastercard. I guess Hong Kong is the nearest place to get this book. If you can't buy it online by yourself, ask someone who has a credit/debit card to buy it for you. Otherwise, if there is someone you know who is going to Hong Kong, ask that person to buy the book for you. See, when there is a will, there is a way. Don't be dampened so easily.

I have seen the Vol 1 and the Handbook (with 190 DD on cover) at Nat'l Lib. Im sure most of us have seen it.

So may i ask, how did you get yours?
Did you get both?
And if you were to choose only one, which would be a better buy?

If you want to see Albions, Leylands, Seddons, Volvo B57s and Mercedes Benz OFs and LP1113s and the SD Demos until SBS81S, then first book is for you.

If you want to see modern buses and the DDs, then second book is for you.

I'm interested in buying this book as well & have problems with credit card and debit. Just want to check, can I custom-order it at borders. I know there is a place where u can order books not found in the store.
Anyone knows abt xtra charges ? And is book no 2 found in NLB as well ? I only knew Bk 1 was found there ?

you order books at Borders which are found in overseas Borders. they dont help you to order books not found within their stores worldwide.

and theres no surcharge.

Several years ago, DTS the publisher said that there is a lower price if the book is bought in Singapore becuase some of them were printed locally.

I think you should send a email to DTS at [email protected] first
and ask them if those two books can be ordered and delivered locally with lower price.

I got 2 copies of Volume 1, compliments from the author. I haven't buy Volume 2 yet. Speaking about custom orders, you might be able to do so from Times Bookshop. A friend suggested me the idea for he has obtained a special book using the same method. You may want to take down the book's ISBN number, which is usually found on the rear cover, and state this, along with the title, to the salesperson. Additional charges may apply.

Its a tough choice between the two. Both contain priceless information on SBS buses. Vol. 1 covers from 1971-1984 and Vol. 2 is a continuation until the present day. DDs and AC buses are covered extensively in Vol 2. If you prefer the more familiar images, Vol 2 is the choice. If you're an old school junkie like me, then its Vol. 1.

i bought via online but paid without using credit cards as i got none. I just printed out from the webpage the payment/postal address, price and went to Singapore Post. I asked the counter person and he guided me the process (i think is money order?).

Just go to Singapore Post and they will guide you how to order it. Avoid going during lunch time as the counter staff are too overloaded and won't have more time to guide you.
