Urmm..the MkIIs that you guys are talking about, is it the B10Ms? And which are the MkIIIs? Can someone post some picture of the MkIIs and MkIIIs? Haha..I think B10Ms are the best..Their gearchanges are tons better that the Merc’s O405’s gearchanges..The O405’s gearchanges can be so jerky that sometimes when u are not careful, u can fall because of the jerk when u are standing..And there’s also another jerk JUST when the bus is about to come to a complete stop..Like the gearbox downshift until very jialat lydat..lol..

The MK2 got 2 body version , 1 is WA the other is DM , some is CAC and some is NAC.

Oops. Sorry, got confused. We didnt have any MkIIIs isn’t it? Haha. We only have MkIIs and MkIVs. Then the different bodies of the MkIVs would be WA Strider, DM, and DM3500 right? Haha. Oh, we do have some WA-bodied MkIIs that have VERY similar bodies as some WA-bodied Merc O405 eh? I’ve also seen a lot of WA-bodied Scanias with very similar bodywork to the Merc O405s. Lolx. Same model of bodywork from Walter Alexander i guess.

We got MKIIIs. 170 has plenty of them! Very Happy As for the MKIVs , you forgot about the Soon Chow PSV bodywork. They are all Voith-ed, same as the DM3500. The bodywork that's used on Scania, Mercs and MKIIs is called the Alexander PS . Yeap like what you said, same model, only fitted on different chassis.

Btw you should ask before confirming your answer. You should have said "Erm, do we have MKIIIs?" The way you mentioned "We didnt have any MkIIIs isn't it?" might cause you to be scolded by the seniors. I kena scolding because of that. Embarassed Laughing

9000S-9670H, 1895B-1999M, 2593T-2688D, 82P-281G, mark IIs all are WA bodied considerably alot but DM bodied the most, we have mark4 DMs, DM3500, MB0405 DM & DM CAC, tridents, darts, mark IIIs, mixture of markIIs

Best are Volgren bodied: VSO, CNG.

Why I like the MKIIIs:

1) Only 2 gear changes when accelerating.

2) Constant acceleration unlike the ZF buses whose acceleration plateaus along the way. Hence I certainly have no inkling why folks like to call the MKIII slow. (Ok, maybe I'm blinded by my biasness)

3) Speed! The MKIII is easily among the fastest public buses.

4) Ruggedness. Sure, the insides always creaks and groans, but I seldom hear a MKIII that makes such noises from the chassis. Even the newer MKIVs often sound like they have screws loose.

The down-side: The MKIIIs gearbox is sticky downwards, but I think its because of age.
