Oh dear, just saw this bus (625E) this morning at around 10am, when its doing downroute from CLE Int, no thought that it would be involved in an accident nearly 2 hours later…

173's route is dangerous, its full of slopes, but drivers chiong along the way. It seems that the 173 driver is at fault, cause it seems that its doing what 173 drivers does best along Lor Kismis, go onto the other half of Lor Kismis (there are no lane markings on Lor Kismis and Toh Tuck Tce, very narrow roads, so one half is for one direction, and the other is for the other direction)

The Bc's that day who drive TIB 625E is not his perm bus and NOt all BC's of 173 are chiong. like this Bc's that kenna accident was one of the slow driver who drive TIB 786Z ( i don't like this bus cos its the slowest in all CAC Merz )
Not possible to speed cos the accident area is service 173 just turn in from Toh Tuck Terr into Lorang Kismis.

More details i will find out from the rest of the 173 Bc's

Scania & muziq bus, the lane-marking on Lor Kismis & Toh Tuck Terr is drawn as a continuous broken line instead of a straight line & this can be commonly seen on roads in any private estates. Wink

Eh, last check on Tuesday shows no lane marking, no lines, no anything. Lane Markings are only visible at 10m near a junction.

Eh, what I had observed there was that buses tend to speed up right after the turn, I can also tell you that a bus at 30kph can cause an accident. Lor Kismis is also a place where drivers get a chance to gain time.

If they had resurfaced the road, explain why I dint see lane marking early last year? The road has been without lane markings for a long time, probably since the road was built.

A MBO405 12m bus broke down this morning at about 11.30am at the bus stop outside KK Hospital.

It was on Service 851. I can't see the rego clearly as it was on the opposite of the road from where I was, and it was raining.

I suspect that it is TIB572S, as there was no ad on it.

The whole bus was tilted towards the bus stop, seems like either both tyres (front and back) are punctured, or the axle broke, as the tilting was quite obvious.

SBS9092B of 179 broke down on the slight upslope before Innovation Centre on its first PM peak round (departed BNL 15.46).

Bus was towed back (using the bars connected to bumper) to SLBP via Pioneer Rd North.

i ride on 173 every Wednesdays

there hasnt been lane markings at midway of Lorong Kismis...

like as mentioned... the markings are only at the junctions...
nvm, i will see again next wednesday to see if im wrong...cheers

that aside,
buses travelling at 30-40 already pose a threat at that narrow lane...
i have encountered many sudden brakes there, be it when it was under SBS/TIBS/SMRT. Laughing

I ride on Service 173 every monday to friday...
true u will encountered sudden brakes cos the car dere dun give way to buses. Before school start and after school cars will park at road side outside bukit timah school cos a jam at that area.

For my details, that accident area... the bus not possible to be in 30km/h, that junction was just after the right turn from toh tuck ter. at most the driver is starting to pick up speed onli (Reply by the Bc's of Service 173 )

Hmm, its not that necessary to ask the BC everytime, I trust you have the speed instincts so its not good to ask the BC all the time, and trust me, you will get better observations if you just go ahead and observe instead of asking the BC.

I concur with you. However, a person's feeling may not be the actual velocity of an object, cos the force a person feels on a moving object is caused by acceleration, not by velocity. Looking at speedo is better.
