Fastest Buses you ever rode

I rode the NightRider just early this morning (1 am) and the bus just chiong all the way through PIE and BKE. The bus went 85 - 90 km/h and trust my toungue it was competing neck and neck with a Scania L113CRL on service 171 or Service 966. Then, when driving through Marsiling/Admiralty Area, the bus takes no chances and just turn at a junction without slowing down. I guess turned at 40 km/h!! Shocked The bus then treat the silent Sembawang Area like a race track and chiong all the way through turns. I reached home and the bus chiong again.

The bus is a Merc 0405 Hispano Rigid: TIB832Z, adorning the Jia Radio Advert. The sound of it going 90 is like very loud and like ramming the engine. The bus overtook alot of cars and taxis going normal speed limit; 90 km/h. then, if that's the case, the bus may hve went 100 km/h!!! Shocked And it mainly used the middle lane. SMRT Buses especially. Recently took TIB 0522T on Service 67. Firstly, at the interchange, the BC run to his bus (must be late I guess), then on the bus he chiong real fast. At one point of the journey I wanted to check his dashboard but the BC kept telling me to have a seat. End up did not see the dashboard but my guess would be that it was faster than 60 km/h, faster than what I had known from previous experience.

Also happened to a Scania OAC once (and I mentioned this earlier). Up till now, it's still a mystery whether it was SBS 0039R but I could still remember that I told my mother that the bus speed like the Japanese Bullet Train.

I had a friend who worked as a bus drive in SG for about 1 to 2 yrs... n i remember about 3 to 4 yrs ago i took his midnight bus and he drove like.. i dont know.. it has to be more then 90 to 100KM/H cause it was SO DAMN fast i was freaking out..

he told me he does it always during midnight.. n say they play bus games or something.. something to do with messing up another bus's de schedule...

Hmm, night buses are always like that. Get use to it like me (I guess I had over 20 times taking NightRider and NiteOwl) and you will know. Work in some 'sai-kang' place until you have no buses home, and then take the only cheap alternative; bus loh. Or just stay up late and shoot some pictures...

Latest ride: 30/06 Saturday morning, SBS3911C, 8N, express sector on PIE top speed around 80km/h, quite used to the speed at night (lights zooming past) and the loud roar of the old OM engine, really brings back old memories and crazy experiences...

Fastest was also 8N, rego not sure, about 90+-km/h downslope at Adam Road exit, BC driving with one hand and whistling, I was the only occupant (didn't talk to BC, scared he screw up I kenna scold for reaching home too late...), OM at max rev...
And you are not advised to talk to BC too...

And a UK Lance on 852/853 . It chionged along the YCK part there . Very fast indeed . Cool

SBS9199C was indeed fast ! It overtooked a 858 SMRT OAC Merc and a SBST CAC Scania N113CRB . Always like to go into second lane one . Laughing
