Also , i dont think they allow too . Sekali drive halfway , leg cramp , then floor the accelerator and VROOOMMM out of the depot .

Well, you never know. They might be kind enough to let you try your hands on a bus. Perhaps, if you at least have a driver's license, although a Class 3, they might let you try. But if you don't have a license at all.......

Of course, by right, no unauthorised persons are allowed to drive the bus. By 'left', its a different story and it depends on the situation. Wink

Umm.. I once accidentally drove my father's car at Kampung and I hit a fence. Got a big Headache. I let go handbrake, press the accelerator to hard and try to brake but too late, hit fence. The car suffered only minor bruises (license plate scratch, small dent on bumper, licensce plate dent), luckily. Confused Laughing

FYI: There are bus fans in the main SBST fleet of drivers… its just that they don’t come here to post… etc… or take photos… Its more like a hands on approach for them…

I highly doubt so, even a normal person holding on to a class 3 license can’t even drive a taxi as it requires a vocational license. I believe its the same for SBST & SMRT buses.

i feel that they open deport for us to go in touch here and there very good liao… like car show room.. let u go driver cockpit and play around with buttons etc..

I wonder wheter you guys have mangled with a Habit during SMRT Open House. I just pretend to drive the bus and play with the doors. This group (wonder whether some of you guys know this malay teen at the wheel, which was me) and one of you touch the start button. It's so funny.

The thing here is "driving in the depot training area under supervision". No one else knows except you and the person who accompanies you. You're not going to drive the bus outside. Like my grandfather used to say, "If you're not caught, you're not guilty." Wink

Yeah, most buses should be able to do so.

I played with the Striders during my IMF days.
Engine was on. But i didnt dare to press the accelerator. Only played with the steering wheels, handbrakes, gears, signals and doors.

It is a real nice thrill....especially knowing that i could have just driven off.

Last time, when CSS183U was still the Roving bus and came to our school, we went up and touch the steering wheel and played with the gearbox buttons... DNRDNRDNR... Laughing

Then we opened the engine cover... WTF... All soot! We only touch the engine COVER and our fingers became all black. The engine cover also cannot lock properly!
