Still remembered the Lower Delta Road portion where the current service 5 (Bt Merah - Pasir Ris) passes through, that was also where the old service 5 (Bt Panjang - Geylang Lor 1) passed through in the past too Mr. Green Laughing

No_10_Tomas SG

the old svc 5 was never converted to partial aircon svc before it was withdrawn right?

off_service SG

It is a PAC or even FAC (can anyone confirm) and withdrawn as TIBS 5.

No_10_Tomas SG

so SBS aircon has never appeared on it?

Volvo Olympian SG

Nope , but i think it has Merc 0305 and some others.

off_service SG

There were aircon buses on the old service 5. The MK3s.

TIB1049L SG

I remember seeing LO2X too

Volvo Olympian SG

Don't think there is LO2x , it could be Leyland Atlantean , hmm

TIB1049L SG

Former service 5 used to operate with full fleets of MB0305s and LAs. Volvo MK3s were adden in the fleet when SBS converted service 5 into a PAC service in December 1993.

When TIBS took over service 5 in September 1995, Nissan U31 SCNs (NAC) and MB0405s (AC) were used by TIBS. DDs were withdrawn then. Deployment of TIBS buses on service 5 eventually became Hino HT328Ks (NAC) and WA DAFs (AC) over the years before it was withdrawn in December 1999. By the way service 5 was never converted to a FAC service at all.
