Thats why i seriously want the Scania K230UB on our roads! Cheaper, engine last longer, PLUS, Scania has my favourite wheel rims. But i really hope it can be bodied with the Habit body, ofcuz with a different configuration from the Habit O.405Gs. Like the europeans', instead of orange bars, use yellow, instead of hand grips, use straps. But the new Vogelsitze seats is a must! The type that B9TLs uses. Cool Mr. Green

We'll just wait and see which will be the ultimate choice for SMRT. No doubt to you the Scania K230 is the best choice, however, SMRT could be looking from a different perspective. If it turns out to be the Scania K230, good for you. I think with the new rulings, the major players in the bus industry would be in the fight, and a good fight IMHO.

Ya, but if SMRT buys japanese bus also good what, so long the bus got nice suspension. Razz But hopefully no chinese bus loh, cause the chinese are really good at imitations and fake goods dont last long. Neutral Somemore the bus dont have much safety features(see the cherry QQ and you know what i meant" At least jap buses maybe got ABS or other protections. Smile

Yah cheaper, cannot run as fast as a L94UB or N113CRB because of exhuast recirulation.

Habit? You love habit? Interior sucks you know. why stick to Hispano? Why not try some Soon Chow (for your info Soon Chow buses are far more superior than all the leaking Hispano Mercs).

Dress rims ha, what if the remove them like slbp does with its Mercs (and amdep to a smaller scale).

You are a Scania sucker (note that i don't mean Scania sucks), I love to have some Volvo or Mercs.

Ya i get what u mean, u mean i suck to Scania right? As in sticking to Scania. Btw dont think SMRT will remove the dress rims, seen most Mercs have most of their dress rims on, whereas SLBP the mercs so funny, their dress rims (aka nut guard )

And yes, i do want to see Mercs! Especially the Citaros, infact im a Citaro sucker more than Scania sucker. Cool But dont think SMRT will buy mercs yet, cause its rather high priced.

IMO, Hispano has leaky interiors mainly because of poor maintainance, then if not why some Habits are leaky whereas some dont? I still prefer Hispanos leh, their sales of the Habits are not bad leh(im not favouring Hispano because of their sales). I like Hispano because the interiors doesn't produce irritating clanking and banging noises when going over bumps, unlike Volgren, which produces loud clanks and bangs when the bus goes over the bump. Im not sure about soon chow, about the PSV MKIVs, the interior quite dull leh. Smile Its just my opinion, so pls dont shoot me with hard remarks ok? Very Happy Mr. Green

You should see the recent products of Soon Chow, hundreds of them, coaches and public buses (that is if you know which buses are produced by Soon Chow).

Soon Chow's design is considered good already, look at their coaches and DDs, though the DDs have a very plastic interior.

No website for Soon Chow, very exprienced bus building company. IMO, looks much more better than SC Auto (SC Auto is NOT Soon Chow) or Liannex.

Soon Chow does not distribute bus chassis like Liannex or SC Auto, which distributes Isuzu chassis and fit them with their own body. Soon Chow does bodying to customer's requests only.

If you have took one of the DDs (not Open Top DD) partly designed by them, you'll know what I mean. BPLRT aint very plastic, at least some parts have metal.

One thing for sure is that they wont choose the Citaros.. The only suitable Merdz that they could buy is the O500s.

And the O500s, like the OC 500 LF, aren't even EuroIV yet, their engine cant have Bluetec technology yet. The german website of the OC 500 LF indicates that they aren't EuroIV yet, only EuroIII, so maybe SMRT will choose the Scania K230UB or otherwise the japanese chassis. Smile

The german website indeed. We are talking about the OC500LEs, not the OC500LFs.

Do you know that what is shown on manufacturer's website is not what the technical specifications given to bus operators shows. the technical specifications would have options.

Euro 4 O 500LEs are available.

Transtar has two bodyworks for their Semi DDs, SKS and Soon Chow. SKS ones are registered in Malaysia. Soon Chow ones are registered in Singapore.

For your information, the DD here I'm referring to is a public bus, if you know which one, then thats good.

Btw OC 500 LE's are low entry buses, OC 500 LF are "true low floor" buses, from the front all teh way to back has no steps, OC 500 LE has steps after the exit, like the B7RLEs. Actually i prefer teh OC 500 LF, so maybe i am biased abt it. Embarassed

Do note that OC 500 LF have a Vertical engine.. Which is something that is very un-popular with Technicians over here in Singapore.

Very few bus operators would buy a full low floor bus in Asia Pacific. Europe is a different market, different market have different wants (like econs), tastes and prefrences differ between regions.

Look at this region Australia buys Low Entry buses, SIngapore has Low Entry buses, very few or no full low floor buses.

Those Europe cities are flat, your Citaro can climb hill or not? Or need another option engine?

Anyway in case you dunno what DDs Soon Chow has partly designed and built, its the Volvo B9TLs. Not all B9TLs were built in Hougang by ComfortDelgro Engineering, thats why you see B9TLs in Northern part of Singapore.
