Police team up with SBS Transit to locate missing persons

SINGAPORE: The police have teamed up with SBS Transit to display missing persons notices.

The notices will be put up at 15 MRT stations on the North East Line as well as six bus interchanges.

Over 3,000 people are reported missing each year.

Police said 80 percent of them are usually found within a year.

Of those who cannot be traced, Singaporeans make up less than 3 percent.

Police said information from the public has helped them solve 40 percent of such cases.

That is why they have also launched a new website www.spf.gov.sg/missingpersons which includes photographs and relevant details of missing persons.
